Our offices, in the United States, do not have product information for South Africa. In order to obtain such information, it is recommended to check our subsidiary’s website, at http://www.lg.com/za/support/contac....

3D? If so, HOW?

Hello, I purchased this projected based on an in-store advertisement that it was capable of 3D. Of course, nobody knew anything when I asked them how I could go about making it 3D. So, I was hoping you could tell how to go about making this projector 3D. What do I need? Where do I start? What do I do?

Thank you so much!

Answer:
According to the information available, on our website, this projector is capable of 3D viewing. The unit will require DLP-Link 3D Glasses. Check the minimum system requirements for your computer, as are listed on page 41 of your owner’s manual. Set the VIDEO OUTPUT to XGA 120Hz and play a video file using a video player that supports 3D output. If you have additional questions about this unit, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this DLP projector and its compatible devices. According to our information, it appears that this projector and BluRay player should be compatible when connected using the HDMI connection. Any of our other 3D BluRay players should also be compatible. These can be reviewed on our website at http://www.lg.com/us/blu-ray-player....

Subtitle formats

I'm trying to watch foreign language films via the USB port (mkv, avi, mp4 formats), however I'm having trouble getting the subtitles to work. Do the subtitles need to be embedded into the video file? If not, what subtitle formats will be recognized by the device?

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with the features of this television. The video file and its subtitle file should be in the same folder and the name of the video file and the subtitle file should be identical. The TV supports only files saved in ASCII code for subtitles, and stored in a .SMI, .SRT, .SUB, .SSA, .PSB, or a .TXT file format. The languages supported are English, Spanish, French, and Korean. Regrettably, the Arabic subtitles may not be compatible with this TV. The only way it would work would be to embed the subtitles as a graphic into the video. Many different encoding software packages will allow this feature.
