3D? If so, HOW?

Hello, I purchased this projected based on an in-store advertisement that it was capable of 3D. Of course, nobody knew anything when I asked them how I could go about making it 3D. So, I was hoping you could tell how to go about making this projector 3D. What do I need? Where do I start? What do I do?

Thank you so much!

Answer:
According to the information available, on our website, this projector is capable of 3D viewing. The unit will require DLP-Link 3D Glasses. Check the minimum system requirements for your computer, as are listed on page 41 of your owner’s manual. Set the VIDEO OUTPUT to XGA 120Hz and play a video file using a video player that supports 3D output. If you have additional questions about this unit, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

3D Feature and Firmware Update

I recently bought this projector tried to play some 3D movies in .mkv format I downloaded into my portable HDD, but I cannot get the 3D function to work. I also tried to do this using my Western Digital TV Live Media Player and nothing happened. Would this projector play 3D movies from an external HDD, or through a media player? I already know this can be done via PC or LG Blu-Ray Players, but I want to take advantage of what I already own.
Will I be able to use any type of DLP-Link 3D Glasses?
I read somewhere that I have to update the firmware using a PC for some reason, what would this do to m projector? Should I do it?

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this projector. The MKV video files will need to be recorded using the H.264 /AVC codec, using the MAIN Profile at Level 4.1 or the HIGH Profile at Level 4.1. It will also need the HE-AAC, Dolby Digital, or DTS audio codecs. The resolution for 3D mode is 1024x768 for HDMI and RGB inputs. Some menus may not work in 120Hz inputs.
