"Purchased this unit 1 month ago. Really do like having the freezer on the bottom. Really do like the room and lay out of the top refrigerator. It is a quiet unit compared to my 18 year old refrigerator it replaced. I am REALLY pleased the the ice maker. I like the shape of the ice cubes and the amount of ice storage."
"I read some reviews and so far, have to say the following...the icemaker is loud at first when the bin is empty and the ice is hitting the plastic...once a layer of ice is in bin, I barely hear it...a few times I checked to make sure it was actually making ice. There is a slight high pitch hum which actually is the icemaker not the fridge but it no louder than a computer hum. It has tons of space in the freezer...I can fit pizzas in there no problem. The 2 bins are side by side, and a stalk of celery will not lie in drawer unless it is on an angle...but this is no big deal. I really did not want stainless steel because of the smudge and fingerprint issue, but I found a good stainless steel cleaner, and problem solved. All and all..I am happy so far...it was a good price, it fit my space and my needs. I recommend this fridge."
"I almost did not buy this refrigerator because of some of the negative reviews. I actually ordered a different refrigerator that did not fit and this was the closest one to the one I actually wanted. I have had this product for about a month. So far its been great. If you use the ice plus feature it can make a lot of ice. A lot of interior room!. Great slide out draw freezer."

"Some reviewers have commented on the type of noise coming from this unit. Aside from the low hums common on all fridge's from the compressor and internal air-moving fans (and the LG seems no worse than any other in this regard) this unit has a fan on the condenser coil. It's at the back bottom on the right side (when facing the back). It produces a fan-like (not hum-like) noise- it's a moderate speed fan. In my kitchen with a wood floor that probably amplifies it I can hear it easily, whereas I can hear none of the hums from the compressor or internal fans. It doesn't seem any particular design effort was made to dampen the noise from this fan. My wife is not bothered at all about this, but it annoys me. Just to be sure this wasn't a defect in my unit I measured the sound level of other fridges at the store- they were the same (I'm an engineer :-)).
We'll probably keep the fridge because it's beautiful and it's features are much nicer than other brands. But I would suggest LG look into making this particular fan quieter."
