Nice fridge
Date:June 25, 2010
Best Features: Style/Design, Quality
Cons: Features/Settings
"We purchased this refridgerator for the size. I wanted the bottom freezer and I really like it. I am not as happy with the door shelves as they seem to be a lot smaller than my old one. There doesn't seem to be enough space for larger bottles to fit real well. The shelves, I seem to not be able to get them set so my gallons of milk fit, with the light right in the middle there isn't enough room. Then the ice maker, when you go to get the ice out, into a glass, it seems to splatter the ice all over, even with the glass up as far as we can get it, it seems the dispenser should be a little longer to keep this from happening. All in all I am happy with the fridge and I am getting used to the smaller spaces with the shelves."

"I bought this because it had ice in the door with a bottom freezer and would fit in a tight space. It is the easiest refrigerator I have ever had to retrieve items."

"We LOVE our LG~~
My wife just had her 4th back surgery and I have a bad back from working the trade jobs and we thought this out real good on our % of use. We figured we use the refrigerator 90% of the time and the freezer the other 10% of the time so with the French Door unit there is no bending over except freezer time but LF has built some real smooth sliding action on the freezer bin/drawer, it coasts out with ease. Another thing I noticed after owning our first French Door unit is that when the doors are open the base of the framework where the door swing out from are wide enough to set a gallon of milk on securely during the moving-shifting process. That too has diminished, the BIG HUNT for things, we owned a side by side with ice and water in the door (which we will never own again) and we can view most of our refrigerated food inventory at a glance and rarely have to move something to get what we are after. This new way of seeing things and finding them also cuts down on food waste, you know, small items that shift to the rear and get hidden until they get noticed again when they have spoiled. We chose the single drawer freezer since it has an independent top drawer behind the main drawer which is the basket bin, the basket bin also has an exact fit ice bin which is handy and easy to pour the made ice container into.
I read all the reviews I could on the LG refrigerators on all the website reviews I could find and there was only one thing that stuck out to me and that was the infamous fan noise that many folks complained of. I don't mind the noise so I guess it boils down to what and how loud of a noise you can stand compared to me. I personally think it is just a minor hum noise and with ice and cold water in the door it must be the fan that flows the frozen air from the lower freezer compartment to the LH door, there are large ducts with tight seals on the LH door and this must be the noise other folks have complained of. ALL FUNCTIONS of this LG refrigerator have and are running quieter than any other refrigerator I have owned and at 60 I have owned a lot... The simple to use touch pad computer panel on the door is idiot proof to use and very user friendly, AND, you also control your temperature for the freezer and refrigerator on that touch pad and the LCD/LED lights show you the temp you have set it at. I like the lowest on the refrigerator which is 33 degree's and not one leaf item has frozen wilted, I set the freezer at -0 degree's but it will go as low as -6 degree's I think is the lowest setting.
Prices have come down since we have bought ours a couple months ago, I guess the housing boom falling apart has forced lower prices at home supply stores that now boast a 15-40% drop in price. We got ours though a well known outlet store on ebay and it was a breeze to unpack and set up. You will get a full installation manual but there is just to much reading, common sense and a couple routine hand tools, level and wrenches (to hook up the 1/4" water line) will get the job done. If you uncrate your new LG and look at it inside leave all the packing and Styrofoam in place and re-tape the doors closed until you get it parked where you want to set it up at, this will protect the glass inside and LG does a great job of packing that safely too. It will also protect the doors and keep them closed and I highly recommend an appliance dolly even if you have to rent one for 10 bux for a day, money well spent also.
If you buy and LG stainless French Door you WILL LOVE IT...
Very Satisfied,
Idaho

"I have limited space and this was one of the few choices I had for a 33" width. The fridge has all the features that were a "must" for me. At first, I thought it was a little noisy but after 24 hours the temperature was regulated and the motor quieted down. Love the bottom freezer!"

At 33”-wide, this LG refrigerator may be smaller in width than our other French Door refrigerators, but it’s certainly not small on features. Thanks to its nearly 12” tall ice and water dispenser, you can fill just about anything. Plus, it comes with an expansive interior, flexible storage options, and sleek styling.
