Answer:
The second icemaker is in the freezer. It produces more and larger cubes than the door icemaker and drops them into a bin that takes up about a third of the top drawer. For increased ice production, you can activate a 'boost' setting on the front panel that drops the freezer temp by a few degrees to make ice faster for the next 24 hours...pretty cool.

Answer:
It is not normal for frost to build up, as this refrigerator was designed with an automatic defrost feature. If a large amount of frost is building up, it is likely that humid air is leaking into the cabinet. For such a situation, the unit will need to be inspected by a licensed service technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
Both temperatures can be set on the front control panel. Just touch the 'freezer' or 'refrigerator' buttons to activate the setting program and keep tapping the button to get to the desired temp.

Answer:
According to the information in the owner’s manual, on page 22, adjust the temperature in the REFRIGERATOR compartment by pressing the REFRIGERATOR button. When the temperature setting gets to the limit of its cycle, it will start over at the cycle’s other extremity. The operation of the FREEZER is performed in the same fashion, with the FREEZER button.

Answer:
While I know that the above answer is quoted verbatim from the user's manual, it is largely unhelpful in equipping the average buyer with knowledge necessary for purchase.

My current fridge produces 180 cubes of ice. From the above, one might assume that this fridge produces and stores more ice than mine. But one would be wrong. My ice cubes weigh approximately 0.6 oz each, for a total tray capacity of 6.75 lbs of ice. I presume that the cubes in this fridge must be markedly smaller for 120 cubes to fit in such a small tray.

So the core question remains unanswered ... "... what is the storage capacity of the upper and lower ice maker?" I require 4 - 4.5 lbs of ice to make 1 gallon of iced tea, and require my fridge be capable of producing this without manual assistance.

Answer:
Automatic Icemaker (Door)
Ice is made in the automatic icemaker and sent to the dispenser.
The icemaker will produce 12 cubes per cycle—
approximately 120 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending
on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature,
number of door openings and other operating conditions.
- It takes about 12 to 24 hours for a newly installed refrigerator
to begin making ice. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production to occur.
- Ice making stops when the in-door ice bin is full. When
full, the in-door ice bin holds approximately 6 to 8 (12-16
oz) glasses of ice.
- The water pressure must be between 20 and
125 psi on models without a water filter and between
40 and 125 psi on models with a water filter to produce
the normal amount

Automatic Icemaker (Freezer Room)
Ice is made in the automatic icemaker and sent to the dispenser.
The icemaker will produce 12 cubes per cycle—
approximately 100 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending
on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature,
number of door openings and other operating conditions.
- It takes about 12 to 24 hours for a newly installed refrigerator
to begin making ice.

125 psi on models without a water filter and between
40 and 125 psi on models with a water filter to produce
the normal amount and size of
ice cubes.

We have had problems with the ice maker stopping to produce ice. We have shut it off and back on and it may or may not start making ice again. It is strange it seems intermitently and we can determine why. Can you please help with this confusing problem. We have the three door model with a water dispenser as well.

Answer:
Try taking the water filter out and replacing it with the bypass. I had a similar problem and was told that the filter sometimes freezes up. If you take it out and let it thaw, it may work again.
