I enquired about these two models recently: The LFX21976ST & LSMX211ST
Both almost identical in every dimension, price and style (almost).
The LFX is a 3 door French opening door fridge (with two interior freezer shelves) where the LSMX has 4 doors (using the freezer interior shelves available to open from the exterior). Other than the freezer lightbulb and the shelves able to open from the exterior I could not tell the difference between the two. Even the price were practically the same.
I was told by customer service the material quality is much better in the 4 door LSMX.
"The stainless steel used on this unit is of higher quality and instead of a one year warranty on the LFX21976ST, LG gives a two year manufacture warranty with the LSMX211ST. The design of the water and ice dispensing system is also different in the two units."
Given they're both priced (practically) the same, my decision was easy.
I noticed it was hard to find a retailer for the 4 door LSMX211ST (On-line or otherwise) and there's no price quote listed on the LG website for this model. Furthermore, I noticed the LSMX213 & LSMX214 (both [ST] later models) discontinued.
Where they recalled? Should I be concerned about the 211[ST], (earlier) model?
I checked to see how the fridge rates through Buyer Reviews including Consumer Reports. Sadly I could not find any buyer reviews and Consumer Reports has never tested the LSMX211ST.
Please tell me something that could reassure my confidence in the LG LSMX211ST. Why is it really hard to find or has no price quote listed on the LG website?
Does anyone own this model or know something about these issues?
I'm ready to buy NOW but need to be confident about my purchase.
