My lg refrigerator is not making ice what could be the matter

We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. Typically, the lack of ice production will be related to the internal temperature of the freezer/ice compartment. This occurs most frequently near the original installation of the product, as the machine works to reach a proper cooling temperature, or if there is high traffic with doors being frequently opened and closed, causing a rise in the temperature. If this is not the case, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to further troubleshoot this matter.

Why arent air filters used to keep the dirt off the coils? Thus throwing away the dirty filter and adding a new one without having to clean the coils with brush and vacuum cleaner?
