SHARING CONTENT BETWEEN
DEVICES ON YOUR LASER TV

Your LG Laser TV is equipped with innovative features that make it easy to share and display content between devices, like your PC, tablet, smartphone and more. There are multiple ways to connect and they all depend on your network connectivity and the type of device you wish to share.

SHARE CONTENT USING LG SMART SHARE

LG Smart Share lets you connect your compatible smartphone, tablet, PC, camera, or USB device to your TV and showcases all of the device's audio, video, and photo content in simple menus on your screen. See how easy it is to connect.

CONNECTING A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET

There are a few ways you can connect your compatible smartphone or tablet to your Laser TV–wirelessly using your home network using DLNA (if your compatible smartphone or tablet are DLNA certified) or without a wireless network connection, using Wi-Fi Screen Share via Wi-Fi Direct or Intel WiDi.

Share content using DLNA

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) allows you to enjoy videos, music and photos saved on your DLNA-certified smartphone, tablet, PC or server using the Laser TV through your home wireless network.

Once your Laser TV and DLNA certified smartphone or tablet are both connected to your home wireless network, follow these steps:

  1. Enable Wi-Fi on the smartphone.
  2. Install/run the DLNA media player app to share content on your compatible smartphone.
  3. Run "Share my mobile phone Content".
  4. Select the kind of content (video/music/photo) that you wish to play.
  5. Select the video, music, or photo file to play on Laser TV.
  6. Select Add to Playlist.
  7. On the device that you want to play the file, select the Laser TV model. (You can find the Laser TV model name on the product label.)
  8. Play the selected file on Laser TV.

Share content via Wi-Fi Screen Share

The Wi-Fi Screen Share function on your LG Laser TV seamlessly allows you to share what's on your compatible smartphone, tablet, or PC screen using Wi-Fi Direct or Intel WiDi (provided that your device is WiDi enabled). The great part is that both methods connect to each other directly over their own wireless signal and do not require you to be connected to a wireless internet connection.

Connecting using Wi-Fi Direct:

  1. Press the SETTINGS button on your Laser TV.
  2. Press the ↑ or ↓ button to select NETWORK and press the OK button.
  3. Press the ↑ , ↓ , ← or → button to select Wi-Fi Screen Share and then press the OK button.
  4. Set Wi-Fi Screen Share to On. (If you don't want to use this function, set to Off.)
  5. Enable Wi-Fi Direct on the device that you want to connect to.
  6. The list of devices that can connect to the Laser TV will be displayed on your TV screen.
  7. Select the device you wish to connect.
  8. Select 'Yes' when the connection request message appears on your external device.
  9. If the device that you want to connect to accepts the request, Wi- Fi Screen Share will be connected.

CONNECTING A PC

There are multiple ways to stream and share content between your PC and your Laser TV. For example, you can connect to your TV using your home wireless network, provided your PC is DNLA enabled, or you can connect directly, without a wireless internet connection, using Wi-Fi Screen Share or Intel WiDi.

SHARE CONTENT USING DLNA

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) allows you to enjoy videos, music and photos saved on your DLNA–certified smartphone, PC or server using the Laser TV through your home wireless network.

DLNA CERTIFIED

Follow these steps in order to connect your PC:

  • 1. Make sure that your Laser TV and your PC are connected to the same wireless network, through a single access point in order to connect via DNLA.
DLNA CERTIFIED
  • 2. If you don't already have a DLNA media player installed on your PC, you can download and install free Windows software here. (See link under DLNA section.) Before installation, close all running programs including firewall and Anti-Virus programs.

  NOTE: Apple (Mac) Compatibility

  • Right out of the box LG televisions will not work with Apple products or the Mac OS because the free DLNA software that we offer is designed for PCs running Windows. You may, though, have the option to look for a freeware digital media server built for the Mac platform instead.
NERO MEDIAHOME 4
  • 3. Start the application by double–clicking the 'Nero MediaHome' icon.
SMART SHARE
  • 4. Once the application is installed and running you will see the icon for it in the Smart Share hub on your Laser TV.
SMART SHARE
  • 5. The server should be running in order to watch the shared file on your Laser TV.
