FINDING THE RIGHT ASPECT RATIO

If you're wondering what an Aspect Ratio is, you're not alone. To put it simply, older televisions used a boxy format (the 4:3 Aspect Ratio), so older programs and current non-HD programs are formatted to fit that size. However, newer HD programming is best enjoyed in a letterbox format that's more like what you see in the movies (the 16:9 Aspect Ratio). To avoid distortion, it is best to use the Aspect Ratio that corresponds to the type of entertainment you are enjoying.

WHEN SHOULD I ADJUST THE ASPECT RATIO?

Most of what you'll be watching will likely be in HD, but some TV broadcasts are still in standard definition (SD). HD is viewed in the 16:9 ratio, but you may notice a broadcast showing up with two black columns to either side. This likely means it is an SD broadcast. If this is the case, you should adjust the Aspect Ratio to 4:3 in order to get the best possible picture.

HOW DO I ADJUST THE ASPECT RATIO?

Simple. Just select MENU and then PICTURE on your remote. Then select ASPECT RATIO. From here, just choose which one is ideal for your entertainment and select ENTER.

Alternatively, you can also adjust your aspect ration settings by selecting HOME, then SETTINGS, then QUICK SETTINGS, and selecting ASPECT RATIO.
