Too Much Water in the Washing Machine

Troubleshooting Washer Dryer Combos, Washers Last Updated 08/20/2014

TOO MUCH WATER IN THE WASHER

If your washer appears to be filling with too much water, this may be the result of an undiscovered error code condition or as a result of the cycle that was chosen. Some things you would want to check for are:

Error Codes

Delicates Cycle

Slow Drainage

Error Codes

If there is an error code displayed, refer to the troubleshooting steps for that particular error code.

Delicates Cycle

If you are using the ‘Delicates’ cycle, it is normal to see more water than you would normally see in another cycle, such as the ‘Normal’ cycle. The washer will automatically add 30% more water during the delicate cycle for optimum fabric care and wash performance.

Slow Drainage

If you are noticing water remaining in the washer after a cycle, this is usually the result of slow drainage. Check the drain hose to make sure that it is not kinked or clogged. Also, check the drain pump filter at the bottom front left of the washer to make sure there are no items obstructing the drain pump.
