Always-on display feature on LG G5 lets you view the time or notification icons without turning the screen on. The date, your signature or time, and the app notification icons are displayed on the screen even when it is off.
To enable Always-on display:

Open Settings
> Display tab.

Set Always-on display to ON
Note: When an app notification is received, the current time and the icon for the app are displayed for 3 seconds.
When messages are received, message content is not displayed on the screen.
Always-on display may be disabled out of box with LG G5 depending on your service provider.
To edit the Always-on display information:

Open Settings

Select Set what to show under General section.

Select Signature then Next.

Enter the text you want to display and select the font.

Tap SAVE then SET.
Note: To edit the signature after being set, select Set signature under Signature section.
