EMAIL ACCOUNT SETUP USING THE GOOGLE NEXUS 4 E960

The Email application supports the following account types: Microsoft Exchange, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, and other accounts.

Setup Microsoft Exchange
Setup Windows Live Hotmail
Setup Yahoo!
Setup AOL Mail
Setup Other Email


Setup Microsoft Exchange

1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Add Account.

2. Tap Corporate

3. Enter the full email address and password for the account, then select Next.

4. Enter your Domain, Password, Server, Security Settings, and Port if not entered automatically, then select Next.  Please check with your email administrator for these settings.

5. Inbox checking frequency lets you choose to have mail arrive as soon as it is sent to you or check for new mail at pre-set intervals.

6. Days to sync lets you specify how many days of mail to display on your device.

7. Tap Next, after your device connects to the server you will be able to set your Account display name to identify your account (this setting is optional).

Setup Windows Live Hotmail

1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Add Account.

2. Tap Email

3. Enter the full email address and password for the account, then select Next.

4. After your device connects to the server you will be able to set Inbox checking frequency (lets you choose to have mail arrive as soon as it is sent to you or check for new mail at pre-set intervals), and Days to sync (lets you specify how many days of mail to display on your device).

If you receive an error you may need to manually setup your account. Select Manual, Tap POP3 and enter the following.

  • POP3 Server: pop3.live.com
  • Secure Type: SSL
  • Port number: 995
  • SMTP Server: smtp.live.com
  • Secure type: TLS
  • Port number: 587
  • Authentication: Checkmark box

6. Tap Next, after your device connects to the server you will be able to set your Account display name to identify your account (this setting is optional).

Setup Yahoo!

1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Add Account.

2. Tap Email

3. Enter the full email address and password for the account, then select Next.

4. After your device connects to the server you will be able to set Inbox checking frequency (lets you choose to have mail arrive as soon as it is sent to you or check for new mail at pre-set intervals), and Days to sync (lets you specify how many days of mail to display on your device).

  • IMAP Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
  • Secure Type: SSL
  • Port number: 993
  • SMTP Server: android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • Secure type: SSL
  • Port number: 465
  • Authentication: Checkmark box

6. Tap Next.

Setup AOL Mail

1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Add Account.

2. Tap Email

3. Enter the full email address and password for the account, then select Next.

4. After your device connects to the server you will be able to set Inbox checking frequency (lets you choose to have mail arrive as soon as it is sent to you or check for new mail at pre-set intervals), and Days to sync (lets you specify how many days of mail to display on your device).

  • IMAP Server: imap.aim.com
  • Secure Type: SSL
  • Port number: 993
  • SMTP Server: smtp.aim.com
  • Secure type: SSL
  • Port number: 465
  • Authentication: Checkmark box

6. Tap Next.

Setup Other Email

1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Add Account.

2. Tap Email

4. Enter the full email address and password for the account, then select Manual.

5. You will need to contact your email provider for IMAP or POP3 settings.
