To use Wi-Fi on your phone, you need access to a wireless access point. Some access points are open and you can simply connect to them. Others are hidden or implement other security features, so you must configure your phone in order to connect to them.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Networks Tab  > Wi-Fi

    Note: A Wi-Fi tutorial prompt will display. Checkmark  Don’t show this again to not show the tutorial when accessing Wi-Fi setup again. Tap Continue for a guided tutorial. If you are already connected to a network, the tutorial will skip to the end and state Done. Tap Close tutorial to skip and do manual setup.

  2. Tap the Wi-Fi switch  to turn on Wi-Fi and begin scanning for available access points. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will be displayed. Secured networks are indicated by a lock icon  .

  3. Tap a network to connect to it:

    • If the network is open, you will automatically be connected to the network.
    • If the network is secured, you are prompted to enter a password or other credentials. (Ask your network administrator for details). Scroll up for additional options. When finished tap Connect.
  4. The  icon in the Status Bar shows you're connected.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Networks Tab > Wi-Fi

  2. Tap the Menu key  to select from the following settings:

    • WPS Push Button - setup a Wi-Fi connection with a compatible push button router.
    • WPS Pin Entry - setup a Wi-Fi connection with a router that can accept PIN entry.
    • Wi-Fi Direct - create a peer-to-peer connection with a compatible device.

    Note: Settings options grayed out unless Wi-Fi switch  is enabled.

  3. Tap Advanced Wi-Fi to select from the following settings:

    • Network notification - be notified when when an open network is available.
    • Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Wi-Fi will stay connected regardless if your phone is unlocked or not.
    • Wi-Fi signal weak - automatically disconnect from a weak Wi-Fi network.
    • Internet unavailable - automatically disconnect from Wi-Fi network if there is no internet connection.
    • Wi-Fi optimization- minimize battery usage while using Wi-Fi.
    • MAC address - your phones Wi-Fi address.
    • IP address - address of connected Wi-Fi access point.
