NEXUS 5 D820 EMAIL BASICS

You can use the Email application to read email. The Email application supports the following account types: GMail™, POP3, IMAP and Microsoft Exchange (for Enterprise users).

Create an Email

1.

From the Home screen, tap Apps > Email


2.

Tap the Compose icon to compose a new message.


3.

To Attach a file, tap the Menu key > Attach picture or Attach video


Note:

To attach a document or other file, locate the document from Downloads app  or other app and share via Email . Share is generally located by pressing the Menu key .


4.

Tap Send when finished.

Read an Email

1.

From the Home screen, tap Apps > Email


Note:

When new email arrives, a notification appears in the Status bar. Drag the Notifications panel downward and tap the email notification.


2.

Tap Inbox in upper left corner to access different email accounts and account folders.


3.

Tap the subject of an email to view.


4.

If there are attached files, scroll to the bottom of the email and tap the file to view.


5.

Tap Menu key > Save to save the file to memory.

From the Home Screen, tap Apps > Downloads . Your saved files are located here.

Email Settings

General settings


In General settings, you can confirm before deleting, confirm before sending, choose which screen to show after you delete a message, set how email is displayed, and set deleting option. To access General settings:

 From the Home screen, tap Apps   > Email   > Menu key > Settings > General settings


Account settings


In Account settings, you can change how your account and name are displayed, create and use a signature, set the number of emails to show, set download size, change account & sync settings, set securty settings, display email notifications and set notification sounds, set server settings when you have issues with your email, and remove your account. Options may vary depending on the email account type added.

From the Home screen, tap Apps   > Email   > Menu key > Settings and tap an email account.
