NEXUS 5 D820 LOCK SCREEN BASICS

If a lock is set for your screen, the screen goes dark and locks when the display goes to sleep or if you press the Power button.

You can set locks of different strengths using lock settings:

1.

From the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Security

2.

Tap Screen lock.

3.

Tap None, Slide, Face Unlock, Pattern, PIN or Password.

None: No lock screen is enabled so the screen will never be locked from use.

Slide: Provides no protection, but lets you get to the Home screen or Google Now quickly.

Face Unlock: Lets you unlock your device by looking at it. This is the least secure lock option.

Pattern: Lets you draw a simple pattern with your finger to unlock the device.

PIN: Requires four or more numbers. Longer PINs tend to be more secure.

Password: Require four or more letters or numbers. This is the most secure option, as long as you create a strong password.

Note:

After you set up Face Unlock, look under Apps > Settings > Security for two additional settings: Improve face matching and Liveness check. Use these to make Face Unlock more reliable and secure.
