LG EXTRAVERT 2 VN280 SOFTWARE UPDATE

We are pleased to announce the software upgrade to VN28012A for the LG Extravert 2 is now available.


To check the software version:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Menu > Settings > Phone Info > SW/HW Version.

  2. View the current Software version.

  1. Fully charge the battery.

  2. Save any important data before updating the software on your device. Any data not saved to a PC may be erased; i.e. contacts, images, etc. To backup your data, connect your phone to a PC via the USB cable. After connecting, select Media sync (MTP) mode on your phone. Copy personal folders to your PC, i.e. DCIM (photos, videos), Downloads, Music, etc.

    You may also download a third party backup solution using the Play Store on your device.

Note: Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process. The entire upgrade process varies depending on software package size and your internet connection speed.

  1. When a software update is available, a prompt notifying you of the update will display. Select Download or wait 30 seconds. Wait unill the software has downloaded.

  2. Once the download is complete select Options > Start Update.

  3. When the upgrade is completed, your phone will restart. Once your phone has powered on, you will be notified that the software update was successfully installed. Select Options > OK to complete the upgrade proccess.

If you have not been notified of an available software update, you can manually check if one is available.

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Phone Info > Software Update > Check New.

  2. If an update is available, select Options > Start Download.

  3. Once the download is completed, select Options > Start Update.

  4. When the upgrade is completed, your phone will restart. Once your phone has powered on, you will be notified that the software update was successfully installed. Select Options > OK to complete the upgrade proccess.

If you are unable to update your software over the air you may use the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant.

  1. With your phone powered on, connect to your PC via the microUSB cable.

  2. On your computer you will be notified that your phone has been connected and a AutoPlay screen should display. Select VZW_Software_upgrade_assistant.exe to install the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant.

Note: Depending on your version of Microsoft Windows you may receive a warning for permission to continue, select Continue.

  1. Once the software upgrade assistant has been installed, run the application. The upgrade assistant will scan for your device and the status will display Upgrade Available. Select Upgrade LGVN280 to upgrade your software.

  2. Your phone will restart once the update is complete and the status in the Software Upgrade Assistant will change to Up to date.

PC Requirements: OS - Windows 2000 (SP4 or later), Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 CPU - 1.8 GHz or higher Memory - 1 GB or higher Hard Disk Drive - 9 GB or higher available Administration rights on the PC for software installation High-speed internet connection
