LG G2 VS980 VOICE OVER LTE (VoLTE) CALL

To make calls using VoLTE, you must subscribe to the VoLTE service. If you want to use this service, call the customer service at 1-800-922-0204. After subscribing to the VoLTE service, you will be able to set the VoLTE call settings on your device.


  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps  > Settings  > Tethering & networks > Mobile networks.

  2. Checkmark VoLTE call   to turn on HD Voice and Video call.

Options During a Call

HD Voice Call:

  1. Make a call using dial pad, call log, or contacts.

  2. If both devices have VoLTE subscription, it will connect as a HD Call and the HD icon will display.

To Change a HD Voice Call to a Two-Way Video call:

  1. Tap the Camera button  to start a video call. This will turn your camera on and send a video request to the connected caller. If the call is not accepted, the video call will time out and stay on as a HD voice call.

  2. Tap the Change to Video button  to convert to a video call or tap the Stay on Voice  to not change to a video call.

To Change a HD Voice Call to a One-Way Video call:

  1. Tap the One-way Camera button  to share your video during a call. This will turn your camera on and send a request to the connected caller to view your video. Only your video will be shared.

  2. Tap the Change to Video button  to convert to a video call or tap the Stay on Voice  to not change to a video call.

Note: The HD icon  on the call screen is used to identify a VoLTE call vs 1G call.

Using the Video Call

You can make and receive video calls.

To make a video call:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps  > Contacts

  2. Tap the contact you want to call.

  3. Tap the Video Call icon

    OR

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon

  2. Tap the Recent tab  at the top of the screen and tap a call entry.

  3. Tap the Video Call icon  at the right of the call entry.

To receive a video call:

  1. To answer a video call, tap the Answer Video button

  2. To answer a voice call, tap the Answer Voice button

  3. To ignore a call, tap the Ignore button

  4. To ignore a call and send a text message, tap the Ignore with message button

Options during a video call:

  1. To switch on & off camera, tap the Camera button

  2. To switch front to rear or rear to front camera, tap the Switch button
