Home Theater Won't Play Any Discs - Soundbar, Sound Plate, Home Theater

When the Home Theater System does not play any discs, follow the steps below to determine a solution.

Note: Before troubleshooting, please make sure any Firmware Updates have been performed.


  1. Does the LED on the front of the unit illuminate?
    (Or, if there's a display on the unit, is it on?) Yes No
    • Make sure the power cord is securely plugged-in to both the unit and an outlet.

      Note: If the unit is plugged into a power strip, please plug it directly into a wall outlet.

    • Move the power cord to another known working outlet. Test the outlet with another device, such as a lamp.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
  2. When you press the Home button on your remote, do you see the home screen?

    • Make sure your TV is set to the proper input. It should match the port number on the back of the TV that your Home THeater is hooked into. You can switch inputs on most TVs using a button called Input, Source, or Function.
    • Make sure the Home Theater is powered on by pressing the power button on the remote, or on the unit(if the first one doesn't turn the unit on, try the other).
    • If the Home Theater turned on using the button on the unit, but not on the remote, replace the batteries in the remote.
    • Try to use a different cable, or try to use the same cable on a different TV.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
  3. Do any discs work?
    (Please try a minimum of four discs, two Blu-ray and two Standard DVD) Yes No
  4. Which type of disc worked? Blu-ray DVD Both
    • Make sure the discs are free of scratches, smudges, or fingerprints.
    • Try to use a laser lens cleaner. These should be available at several local retailers.
    • If the issue persists, Contact Us.
    • The Blu-ray specific laser may be experiencing issues.
    • Make sure the discs are free of scratches, smudges, or fingerprints.

    • The DVD specific laser may be experiencing issues.
    • Make sure the discs are free of scratches, smudges, or fingerprints.
