Music Flow Apps and Software - Installation/Setup/Adding Speakers - Soundbar, Sound Plate, Home Theater

Welcome to Music Flow, where you will live in flowing sound. To begin enjoying your new sound experience, you'll need to setup your application. Music Flow devices can be controlled using Android, iOS, and/or PC. Choose the App you wish to use from the options below.


With which application do you want help?



First, open the Play Store  . You may need to find this in your device's app drawer.
Locate the search bar at the top and type lg music flow.
From this list, tap the Music Flow Bluetooth App.
Tap Install.
Read the required permissions, then if you Accept, tap the button.
The App will now download. The download time will depend on your connection speed.
Once the download is complete, the App will automatically install. Tap Open to continue.
First, open the App Store  .
Locate the search bar near the top-right and type lg music flow.
If using an iPad, change the upper-left corner to iPhone Only.
Tap the Get icon associated with the Music Flow Player App. If password protection is enabled, you'll need to enter your iPad pin code to allow the installation.
Once the Install button appears, tap it.
Once the download is complete, the App will automatically install. Tap Open to continue.
When the Music Flow Player App is opened for the first time, you will be guided through an initial setup. Start by reading and accepting the Terms of Use.
Since the Music Flow speakers and App support Google cast, you'll need to read and accept the Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Choose Connect product if you're ready to set up your Music Flow speaker. Or click Use Now if your speakers are already setup on your network, or if you would like to explore the app before connecting the speakers. We will proceed with Connect product to setup new speakers.
Choose which type of speaker you'll connect. In this case, we'll choose SoundBar.
Choose your connection type, Wireless connection to connect via Wi-Fi, or Wired connection if the speaker is connected via ethernet, directly to the router.
If using a Wireless connection, press the Wi-Fi button on the top of the SoundBar. The white light should now alternate between white and red.
The App will automatically connect to the MusicFlow_Setup network to begin configuring the speaker.
Enter Your Wi-Fi Password.

Note: This is the password you already use when connecting devices to your home network.

If the speaker connects successfully, you'll be greated with Connection completed. Press the Bell icon to play a test sound, then click Finish (or click Add connection to connect additional speakers, using the same steps you just completed).
Since we chose a SoundBar as our speaker, the App will assist with connecting the speaker to a TV. Choose a connection type.
Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the installation.
Click Finish to complete the speaker-to-TV connection.
When you add a speaker, the App will check for firmware updates. If one is available, it is recommended you update before use.
The next step is Music Curation, where the App will learn about your music preferences so it can suggest appropriate content later. Click Start to begin.
Choose at least three genres you enjoy from the list provided.
Select today's mood! This will help the App suggest music based on how you feel. Click Finish when you're done.
If you'd like to learn more about Google cast, click Learn More. Otherwise, click No Thanks to move on.
The App will help you become familiar with it. Menu in the top-left, search in the top-right. Tap anywhere to continue.
The recommended music section uses your favorite genres, songs where you pressed the Like button, and your current mood to suggest music. Tap anywhere to continue.
These sections arrange your music into clever groups, making the songs you love easier to find!
That's it! Setup is complete.

Next you'll need to access the iOS Settings to join the speaker's personal network.
Choose Wi-Fi from the left, then join MusicFlow_Setup on the right.
Once you see the Checkmark next to the Music Flow network, go back to the Music Flow Player App.
You should be on the same screen you left off on. Tap Next to continue.
Enter Your Wi-Fi Password.

Note: This is the password you already use when connecting devices to your home network.

The App will now complete your speaker connection, please wait.
If the speaker connects successfully, you'll be greated with Connection completed. Press the Bell icon to play a test sound, then click Complete (or click Add connection to connect additional speakers, using the same steps you just completed).
Since we chose a SoundBar as our speaker, the App will assist with connecting the speaker to a TV. Choose a connection type.
Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the installation.
Click Complete to finish the speaker-to-TV connection.

If you'd like to learn more about Google cast, click Learn More. Otherwise, click No Thanks to move on.
The App will help you become familiar with it. Menu in the top-left, search in the top-right, and Mini Player at the bottom. Tap anywhere to continue.
The recommended music section uses your favorite genres, songs where you pressed the Like button, and your mood to suggest music. Tap anywhere to continue.
These sections arrange your music into clever groups, making the songs you love easier to find!
That's it! Setup is complete.
Open the side menu (top-left), then tap the Add Speaker  button.
Choose which type of speaker you'll connect. In this case, we'll choose Music Flow.
Choose your connection type, Wireless connection to connect via Wi-Fi, or Wired connection if the speaker is connected via ethernet, directly to the router.
If using a Wireless connection, press the Wi-Fi button on the top of the SoundBar. The white light should now alternate between white and red.
The App will automatically connect to the MusicFlow_Setup network to begin configuring the speaker.
Once the connection completes, you can tap the Bell icon to play a test sound, or tap Finish to complete the setup.
The first time you add an additional speaker, a small tutorial screen will be presented. The Link button allows you to set up Group Play, while the Connection button allows you to switch the connection type between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Portable (Aux Cable).
That's it! The speaker has been added to the Mesh Network.
Open the side menu (top-left), then tap the Add Speaker  button.
Choose which type of speaker you'll connect. In this case, we'll choose Multi-room Audio.
Choose your connection type, Wireless connection to connect via Wi-Fi, or Wired connection if the speaker is connected via ethernet, directly to the router.
If using a Wireless connection, press the Wi-Fi button on the back (or top) of the speaker. The white light should now alternate between white and red.
Next you'll need to access the iOS Settings to join the speaker's personal network.
Choose Wi-Fi from the left, then join MusicFlow_Setup on the right.
Once you see the Checkmark next to the Music Flow network, go back to the Music Flow Player App.
You should be on the same screen you left off on. Tap Next to continue.
Enter Your Wi-Fi Password.

Note: This is the password you already use to connect devices to your home network.

The App will now complete the speaker connection, please wait.
Once the connection completes, you can tap the Bell icon to play a test sound, or tap Finish to complete the setup.
If a Firmware Update is available for your speaker, it will have the Download symbol on the right. Update the speaker now, or if no updates are available, tap Next.
The first time you add an additional speaker, a small tutorial screen will be presented. The Link button allows you to set up Group Play, while the Connection button allows you to switch the connection type between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Portable (Aux Cable).
Your new speaker will now be available in the Connected Devices list.

If Bluetooth is not enabled on your mobile device, you will be promted to Allow it to be enabled. Tap Yes to proceed.
Once Bluetooth is enabled, tap Start to continue.
You should see your speaker in this list of available Bluetooth devices. If not, make sure the speaker is on and press the Bluetooth button on it. Once you see it in the list, tap it to connect.
The device will confirm the pairing, tap Pair to continue.
If the pairing was successful, you should see the word Connected on the right (under the speaker name). Tap Next to continue.
The next step is Music Curation, where the App will learn about your music preferences so it can suggest appropriate content later. Tap Start to begin.
Choose at least three genres you enjoy from the list provided.

Once your speaker shows in the My Devices section as Connected, go back to the Music Flow Bluetooth App.

Open the side menu (top-left).
Make sure you're connected to the first speaker.
Tap the Dual Link  button.
Follow the instructions in the App to connect your second speaker.
Access your iOS Settings, then tap Bluetooth on the left, and your speaker's model number on the right.
Once your speaker appears in the My Devices section as Connected, open the Music Flow Bluetooth App.
From the Side menu, tap the Dual Play button (as shown below).
Follow the Dual Play instructions in the App to connect your additional speaker.
The second speaker will connect. Now listen to your music as normal and it will play through both speakers.

Quick Start Guide - Installation (Windows)

First, download the Music Flow PC Software, then right-click the downloaded file and choose Extract all... When the extraction completes, the new folder should open automatically.
Locate and double-click the Setup.exe file (it has a blue square icon).
Choose Run to begin the installation.
Click Next to continue.
Read the License Agreement (and print it if you like), then if you agree to the terms, click Yes.
Advanced Users may wish to specify a destination folder. If you aren't sure what this means, click Next to continue.
The files will now be installed.
An LG Red bar will move across to show the progress. This may take a few minutes, please be patient.
Once the files finish installing, you can choose which folders will be shared with Music Flow. Use the Add and Delete buttons to customize what content will be shared. Click Finish, then move on to Quick Start Guide - Setup.

Note: It is recommended that you add all folders that contain music during this step, so they are ready for you to listen to later.

Quick Start Guide - Setup (Windows)

If you left the box marked Directly running the installed program checked, the setup will start automatically. If you unchecked this box, double-click the Music Flow program icon to start the application.
Turn on your Music Flow speaker, and make sure the Wi-Fi symbol has a flashing white light below it.
If the white light is flashing under a different icon, use the function button on the speaker to switch to Wi-Fi.
Choose whether the speaker you'll be connecting is wireless ( Wireless connection), or if you have an ethernet cord connecting it directly to your router ( Wired connection). Then click Next.
Press the Wi-Fi button on the back, or top, of the speaker. The white light should now alternate between white and red.
The computer will automatically connect the the MusicFlow_Setup network.
Once the connection is established to the MusicFlow_Setup network, you will be asked for your Home Network Password. This is the password you use to join your home network.
The Music Flow program will finish connecting to the device.

Note: If the connection fails, try again. Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct, and reset your router.

When the computer connects to the MusicFlow_Setup network, you may be propmted to choose the network location.
It is unlikely you will join this network again, so choose any option, or just click Cancel.

Adding Additional Speakers (Windows)

Click the Settings button, as shown below.
From the Settings menu, click the Add product to connect  button.
Turn on your Music Flow speaker, and make sure the Wi-Fi symbol has a flashing white light below it.
If the white light is flashing under a different icon, use the function button on the speaker to switch to Wi-Fi.
Choose whether the speaker you'll be connecting is wireless ( Wireless connection), or if you have an ethernet cord connecting it directly to your router ( Wired connection). Then click Next.
Press the Wi-Fi button on the back, or top, of the speaker. The white light should now alternate between white and red.
The computer will automatically connect the the MusicFlow_Setup network.
Once the connection is established to the MusicFlow_Setup network, you will be asked for your Home Network Password.

Note: This is the password you use to join your home network.

The Music Flow program will finish connecting to the device.

Note: If the connection fails, try again. Make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct, and reset your router.
