LG G WATCH W100 TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS

Note: This information applies only to devices running Android 4.4.

You can take high-quality photos and videos with the Google Camera app. You can even take timed photos and photos while you're recording a video.


Start taking photos and videos

  • To take a photo using Google Camera, follow these steps:

    1. Touch Google Camera  on a Home screen or in the All Apps menu

    2. Swipe from left to right, then touch Camera

    3. To have the camera focus on an area different from what it's automatically focused on, just touch that area of the screen. Pinch two or more fingers together to zoom in, and spread them to zoom out.

    4. Touch the camera icon or one of the Volume buttons to take the photo immediately. Sometimes there's a slight delay for auto-focusing.

    To view your most recent photo, swipe from right to left. Keep swiping left if you took multiple photos, or swipe right to return to the Camera view.

    Note: On Nexus 5, try HDR+ mode, which automatically snaps a rapid burst of photos and combines them to give you a single shot.

  • To take a photo using the timer in Google Camera, follow these steps:

    1. Touch Google Camera on a Home screen or in the All Apps menu

    2. Swipe from left to right, then touch Camera

    3. Touch the three horizontal dots in the lower right corner of the screen.

    4. Touch Timer  to select "3s" for the 3-second timer and again to select "10s" for the 10-second timer.

    5. Touch the camera icon or one of the Volume buttons. The photo is taken after either 3 seconds or 10 seconds.

    To view your most recent photo, swipe from right to left. Keep swiping left if you took multiple photos, or swipe right to return to the Camera view.

    Note: The Google Camera timer is not available when HDR+ is turned on. Turn off HDR+ if you want to use the timer feature.

  • To take a photo on Google Camera using your watch, follow these steps:

    1. Touch Google Camera on a Home screen or in the All Apps menu

    2. Swipe from left to right, then touch Camera

    3. On your watch, you'll see a card for your Camera that says "Remote." You may have to swipe through your cards to see it.

    4. Touch the Camera card and a shutter button will appear.

    5. When you're ready to take the photo, touch the shutter button on your watch to start the countdown.

    6. When the countdown reaches 0, your watch will vibrate and flash its screen as the camera on your connected phone takes a photo. There may be a slight delay while the camera focuses.

    7. Your watch will show a thumbnail of the photo for a few seconds until your screen dims. Then you can view the photo in the Camera app on your phone.

    8. To view your most recent photo on your phone, swipe from right to left in the Camera app. Keep swiping left if you took multiple photos, or swipe right to return to the Camera view.

  • To record a video using Google Camera, follow these steps:

    1. Touch Google Camera on a Home screen or in the All Apps menu

    2. Swipe from left to right, then touch Video

    3. Touch the video camera icon  to start recording. Pinch two or more fingers together to zoom in, and spread them to zoom out.

    4. To stop recording, touch the stop icon.

    To view your most recent video, swipe from right to left.

  • To take a photo while recording a video using Google Camera, follow these steps:

    1. Touch Google Camera on a Home screen or in the All Apps menu

    2. Swipe from left to right, then touch Video

    3. Touch the video camera icon  to start recording.

    4. To take a photo, touch anywhere on the screen. The video will keep recording.

    5. To stop recording, touch the stop icon.

    To view your most recent video, swipe from right to left.

Note: Left-handed? You can use the camera and video icons to take photos or videos with your left hand while in landscape view.

Camera modes at a glance

When you open Google Camera, you'll see a list of photo and video options on the left side of the
screen. If they disappear, swipe to the right to bring them back.
