Can intelligence sensor be turned off?

I purchased this TV and it looks too dark at night unless I turn a light on in front of the screen. I am not happy with this feature.

Answer:
Yes, the sensor can be turned off. I too suffered from the "dark screen" when the lights are off.
From the remote, go to Menu then Picture, then Energy Saving, click until OFF is displayed.
However, with the lights off the picture is extremely bright. I kept it this way, its a matter of preference.

Answer:
Have you checked to see if your energy saving feature has been turned off? If the energy saving feature is on it tends to make your tvs picture look to dark and night.

Answer:
We regret your dissatisfaction with this feature. The Intelligent Sensor feature is located in the ENERGY SAVING options on the PICTURE menu. This dimming and brightening should cease when either this or the whole ENERGY SAVING selection has been deactivated.
