Answer:
If you are viewing DTV, SAT, or even CATV signals, you could be experiencing excessive digital noise, otherwise known as artifacts. Most common when viewing a source in 1080p mode, when the source signal is actually 720p or 720i. If the same issues appear when watching DVD or BlueRay source material - it could be a problem with the video processor in the TV.

Answer:
You may find that if you sit too close to any TV, and/or the sharpness control is adjusted beyond midpoint, that elements in the picture will actually seem fuzzy. Lower the sharpness control, and soften the picture using picture presets, and you may like what you see.

We regret your dissatisfaction with the design of this television. Our LG televisions currently do not have analog wiring for the audio output. They have only the OPTICAL Digital Audio Output jack. For additional information about this unit, we would need to know the model number of the unit in question. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Answer:
Unplug all I/O connectors, and reconnect them - could just be a loose fitting. This is especially the case with HDMI cables, as they have no feature for securing them to the socket/port, and the weight of the cable constantly pulls down on the plugs and connectors. To alleviate this, place a small drip-loop in the cable, and cable tie the balance of the cable so it isn't pulling down on the connector/plug.

Answer:
Unplug the TV's power cord, and leave it unplugged for 24 hours so that the power supply fully dissipates any remaining or stored charge. Then, plug it back in, install fresh alkaline batteries in the remote control, and try using the menu interface to disable the CC functions again.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this remote control and the TV. The TV and remote control will typically have nothing available to prevent the deactivation of the captions. If your television is connected to a Cable Box, it is highly likely that these captions are a setting in the cable box itself.

Answer:
The problem could range from a thermal or vibration intermittent solder connection on the TV's main board, to poor shielding of a connected device, such as a VHS/VCR player that is generating interference. A remote control whose power on/off button is sticking could even cause the problem (Very common in households where children with sticky fingers are involved). Remove the batteries from the remote control, and move other devices away from the TV more than 6 feet. If the problem persists, I would suspect the TV to be the source of the issues. If the problem goes away, put the batteries back in the remote and see what happens over time. If that proves inconclusive, move externally connected devices back within 3 feet of the TV until it starts to act up again. Eventually the poorly sheilded device being moved back will cause the TV to shut down again. If all this fails to produce a reasonable outcome, or the problem persists, you may need to take the TV to an authorized servicer to have more elaborate testing performed in the shop, such as thermal and applied voltage stress testing. One other possibility might be fluctuating line voltage or arcing in the wall outlet that provides power to the TV. It could be that there is a problem that the TV's internal power supply protection system is sensing, and it is shutting the TV down to protect it, or that the shut-down circuit is working overtime. Again, contact an authorized servicer.
