Answer:
First, on the 42LH50, the LAN cable must be connected to the appropriate port on the back of the television. Second, once the network connection has been established, the NETCAST button needs to be pressed, which is the LG symbol, just below the directional arrows on the upper half of the remote control. At this time, we have no information available about “Free Big Pond Movies”.

Curious if both hdmi 1.4 support and ARC (audio return channel) are currently available or a future firmware update could make them available.

42LH50 and LAN Hardware or WIFI AN-WF100

I finally got high-speed internet at my house and have a wireless router configured and operating for WIFI. I see that this TV has LAN input as well as USB input. To take advantage of internet connectivity and features as advertised for this model, should I hardwire it from the router to the LAN port, or, should I use a WIFI dongle (like the AN-WF100 or equivalent.) Do I get the same benefits? A local LG sales store thought that one of the two ports was ONLY for service and firmware downloads? Is this true? Will any brand WIFI dongle deliver the same features as the AN-WF100.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting LG. For network set up, this TV can be connected to a local area network (LAN) via the LAN port. After making the physical connection, the TV needs to be set up for network communication. You may got to the following link to download the full manual for step by step instruction on connection and setup. Click on the link, then select the Support Tab then click on the linked underlined word English for the manual to open.
