Answer:
Begin by connecting your modem or router directly to the television, using a standard LAN cable. Additional directions for the setup of your network are located on pages 50-55 of your owner’s manual. A copy of the manual can be found under the SUPPORT tab, on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-led-tv-42LV5400.jsp.

Answer:
What you will need is an ethernet cable running from the modem to the back of the TV in order to access the internet. If you have a wireless network available, you may also be interested Wi-Fi® USB Adapter (AN-WF100) which plugs into the back of the TV in order to allow it to connect to the network via Wi-Fi. LG can and will only be able to recommend the wireless adaptor produced by LG. You may try others, but only LG adaptors have been tested with our products. We cannot comment on the operation of adaptors from other manufacturers.
