All my friends that have their own flat panel TV's always think theirs is the best. Then when they come over and see mine they are blown away by the clarity. Most people say it looks almost too good due to the 240Hz. They always walk away jealous and a bit disappointed in their own TV back home. Sorry friends, you should have asked my first...

Great Picture - Good Price - Black Level/NG
The thing one might consider when buying the 47LH55 are black levels and off axis performance.
If, like me, your TV room is darkish, you won't get those inky blacks like the led back-lit LCD and plasma's models. Darkly lit movie scenes unfortunately suffer. C/NET appropriately called the picture a bit "soft."
Off-axis viewing isn't good. Things get a light grayish looking cast in my viewing room.
But most of my viewing isn't dark movies, thank goodness. If you're in a reasonable viewing angle, for most viewing, I love this set. The picture; color balance/brightness, control, etc. are wonderful. Terrific PC monitor, also.

By far the best tv I've ever owned! The picture is unbelievably crisp and clear.

Fully enjoying this t.v.
I would absolutely recommend the purchase of this t.v. I have only owned mine for about a month, but at this point, I am completely happy with the purchase. The picture is great and it was very simple to set up. I have heard that the internal speakers on LG t.v.s are not great, but they do the job just fine. I am planning on hooking up my surround sound system to the t.v. anyway.
