Rated 3 out of 5 by Kyle22 GREAT!!….. for 2 years
I got this TV for christmas in 2011 and have gotten a lot of use out of it. I've had no issues or problems with it for 2 solid years. Now, only a couple months into its 3rd year of use, dead pixels are appearing in various spots around the screen. It's extremely irritating and very distracting. I noticed the first one about a week ago and have already found a couple more spots. Once you find them, it's impossible not to notice them. I'm very disappointed. It's something I can live with, but not for long if it continues to get worse. I could have easily given it 4 or 5 stars across the board if I hadn't run into this problem.

My TV also had a power problem as other reviewers had said. I seldom watch TV, so probably I was the last person who recognized this TV had a power failure. I found this problem a couple of weeks ago. At first, I didn't think this TV had a power problem cuz I hadn't turned on TV for a long time. Instead, I thought the batteries died in the remote control. Although I changed the batteries and still TV didn't turned on. And then I finally realized it had a problem.
The technician visited me and fixed it 3 days later after I called the service center. He fixed it promptly and was very nice.
Anyway, I don't want to recommend this product to anyone.

I own this TV for only 16 months. We rarely use it and we got the common "power won't turn on" issue as many other customers had experienced. This looks like a very common failure if you google it. I won't buy any product from LG again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by StevenC Died right after warranty expired.
Originally chose this LED backlit TV expecting it to last longer than the standard backlit models. But as other have remarked, this model is prone to dying because of power supply issues. So, right now I have a dead TV after only 14 months of use. I have owned many others and this is the only one I have that is experiencing this kind of problem. Very bad, KEEP AWAY!!! Save your money and buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SBrevig Great TV!!
This TV has been good to us. We have used it for gaming, my laptop, movies, ect... I have only had 2 flat screen TVs soo far and this is the best one! My LG TV is soo lightweight! I had a 42" before this one an it was 3times heavier than this one! The only bad thing so far has been the sound... You rele have to have a sorround sound cuz the sound on TV doesnt go very loud... But overall I have had this TV for over 1 yr an no problems yet. I bought this one from Bacdcock an have a 5yr warrenty on it.... Now I am ready to buy the 84" for the livingroom an put the 55" in my room....

Rated 4 out of 5 by ObiTrit Awesome TV - Great Value
I bought a 37" LG LCD 720p TV back in 2007 and love it. It was time to upgrade and i came upon this TV and bought it for a great price refurbished. Being refurbished, i was a little concerned but have had the TV for a little more that two months and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The picture is great however I don't notice a big difference in motion blur from my 60 htz 37" television. Sound from just the TV speakers is OK so we tend to use the surround sound more often. The features seem to be a little lacking but it is easy to set up and use! Overall i am very pleased with my 42" Lg TV. Keep up the great work!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by MikiMiki777 LG TV Fails in a Year
I don't recommend buying an LG TV. It failed within 3 weeks of the year's warranty. When the repair man came to fix it, he was certain it was the main board. My husband told me it's the power supply because it wouldn't turn on (he's a quality assurance manager in electronics and is a power supply electronics engineer). I was told by the technician that the main board controls power. Strange that the first new board failed. The second one improved the overall picture and sound quality. However, after watching this TV for a few hours, it wouldn't turn on later in the evening. Again I had to request service. And, I was informed that a technician would not be available until four working days later. My daughter told me that her technician friend has two LG TV's; both failed for the original owners, and they are wealthy so they preferred to purchase another one. Uh, we are middle class people and we don't have the money to spare replacing items so quickly!
