Does this TV offer an IR extender option?

I just bought the LG NB3530A Sound Bar and when placed in front of my TV because I use the TV stand I cannot get the IR to work because the IR port on the TV is covered up by the sound bar. What should I do? Is there an accessory to help with this issue?

Answer:
I apologize, but no; this television has not been designed with a control port for use with an Infrared extender. One device or another will have to be maneuvered to where there control signal can be received properly.

Answer:
Just watching the LG 50" Class (49.9" Diagonal) 1080p Smart Plasma TV, Model # 50PB6650 in the normal way that you would watch any other TV is breaking it in. When they suggest that you always watch the TV in full screen is because if you have the letter boxing (i.e. the black frames or gray frames around the picture when not in full screen) on for too long (i.e. more than 4 hours continuously and frequently) you might get image retention, but the TV is equipped with methods to clean that up for you. Burn in on the other hand is more severe and depending on the severity of the burn in, it can be permanent, but that is something that you're not likely to have happen from watching regular TV. Typically the TV needs about 100 to 200 hours to break in, but again, just enjoy your TV and don't fret too much about that. If you were going to have the TV calibrated, calibrators will advise you to break it it for 100 to 200 hours. The truth is, unless you plan on doing something abnormal with your TV right as you get it, you don't need to do anything special to break in a plasma. Just watch the TV. That's it. Watching regular content will age the TV perfectly well, and after 100 or 200 hours, the TV should be "broken in" plenty enough that you shouldn't have to think anything else about other than how awesome it is...^IFV

This is my first plasma and I have no idea how to break in or use. First I've read online guidelines that say to ALWAYS watch shows in full-screen never widescreen with a plasma. Then to never have contrast above 50%. Please, I beg you....tell me exactly how to break in and how to use the TV after the break in. Thank you so much!!

This stunning plasma’s Full HD 1080p picture quality gets even better with the addition of our 600Hz Max Field Driving, which makes each frame of video brighter and clearer. Better still is the power and convenience of LG Smart TV, with its easy access to premium content.
