Answer:
A week after I asked my questions I did a little trouble shooting of my own and found that it was not my new T.V. that was the problem it was my old cable box and audio/video cable. I put the cable line directly to the t.v. and my problem with split second flashes of black/white grid lines with motion scenes, disappeared. So I went down to cable co. and they gave me a new a/v cable and new box and now everything is great. I Love this T.V. The picture could not get any better! Awsome! Crystal clear and true to life color.

Answer:
Yes, it is possible to connect a soundbar to this television. The LG SoundBar, model LSB316, connects to the TV using only the Optical Digital Audio cable that is included with the soundbar. Seeing gridlines on a TV screen is not normal operation. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp. As for an extended warranty, it would be recommended to check with your dealer to see if they have any warranty options available.

Is the digial audio out FIXED or VARIABLE?

The remote for my cable/dvr box will control the volume on the TV - will this set allow me to use that remote to control the volume if I have the set connected to my home theater system using the optical audio out connection?

Answer:
I apologize, but no; the audio is set at one level. Unless your cable remote control will directly operate your external audio system, it will not be able to adjust the volume, when not using the TV Speakers.

Answer:
The salesman told you wrong. This TV is not a Smart TV. The only way to get Netflix is to buy an adapter that accesses internet content. Some Bluray players have that feature built in.

Answer:
We regret the incorrect information provided by this salesman. While the 55LK520 does have the Smart Energy Saving feature, it is not a Smart TV. This unit does not have any networking access, which would be required to access any sort of online content, such as Netflix.

Answer:
Yes. I am using a wireless dongle which routs NetFlix, emails, and Facebook from my computer to my 520. The transmitter plugs into the front USB port of my computer to a receiver located across the room and plugged into one of the HDMI ports of the 520. The brand I am using is Warpia found on Amazon. Whatever brand you choose do the online reseach and reviews, download the software to your computer and follow the instructions. Leave a clear direct path between the transmitter and receiver for the best results. Be sure you have enough memory space in your computer for downloading the software. You don,t want an annoying computer resource conflict. Good luck.

What button sequence do I use to switch from 1080i to 1080p?

I was trying to get the tv settings to 1080p instead of 1080i but can't figure it out . I have HDMI cables on everything, XBox 360, BluRay, Satellite. I was wondering if maybe the other components feed controlled this setting?

Answer:
I'm not sure I can help or if I'm right but I've never heard of a button for switching from 1080i to 1080p. As far as I know, especially when watching network TV, the resolution is automatically selected by the network broadcaster. For example, live TV shows and sports are usually broadcast in 1080p. House and Law and Order SVU are broadcast in 720p. The vintage programs like Twilight Zone are poor quality and only broadcast in 480i. Same thing with XBox and BluRay. Depends on the quality they put into the disc. I wish I could find a button too. Twilight Zone in 480i looks lousy on my 520.

Answer:
This television is designed to convert all video signals to fit the 1080p native resolution of the screen. This is normal operation for a fixed pixel display, such as this. If you are getting a notice of a 1080i resolution, this would be a setting coming from the external device, which the television will not be able to control.

If you want high definition for your HD content, games and Blu-ray entertainment, there's nothing better than 1080p Full HD. And if you want sports and fast action to be as a crisp as they are exciting, TruMotion 120Hz virtually loses the blur and keeps the sizzle. The LK520 1080p LCD TV brings you both along with the other great features that make LG TVs something better.
