Answer:
I cannot say exactly as I cannot return to the LG specs site to check. I decided on the 9600 and am very pleased. As I recall it has a better audio than the 8600. I am using the built-in audio and am pleased.

Answer:
The primary difference is the backlighting system of the panels. The LM8600 uses the Edge Lit LED technology, vs the more desirable NANO technology, which is a full array product. this means instead of the panel being illuminated by LEDs behind the side bezels, the 9600 is backlit by LED arrays behind the panel. More LEDs, with far superior dimming capabilities provide the TV with better ranges of contrast across the screen. An image comprised of light and dark elements will wash out on a cheaper panel, the NANO will clearly show both light and dark elements simultaneously.
The 9600 also has 480Hz refresh capabilities, which makes for less smear and artifacting, and improved 3D performance. And it is THX certified.

Answer:
Televisions that have been released in the United States are not designed for operation in any other country. They are designed to use a 120v, 60Hz US Standard Electrical Current. The additional voltage range is simply to help prevent an electrical overload, in the event of a power surge. Also, the manufacturer’s warranty is only valid in the country from which the unit was purchased. Service technicians in India will not have access to parts that would be used in the United States.
