60 Hz vs 120Hz

I addressed a concern at the store that the TV (model 55LN5600) is a 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz. I said I won't use it for gaming but definitely sports on TV like football, basketball, etc. I was worried about smoothing and blur with fast motion. He said many TVs that say they are 120 Hz aren't really- they just change some specs and add features to be able to call it 120 Hz.

Is 60 vs 120 for watching sports with this model going to be problem? I will say I had a 120 Hz Sharp (60 in) and it had a ton of motion blur, despite being 120. I am really at a loss for what to do. It looked great in the store.

Answer:
I haven't seen a difference in the 120 vs the 60. Set your settings on the 60 hz to HIGH on Tru Motion and any other settings to do with blur and motion you can find in your manual and it is as good as 120. I cannot say what a 240 will do since I have not researched it much or actually watched a scene that it would show its potential.

Answer:
you will see little "Blocks" of digitizing as the tv struggles to keep up. Best TV for sports is a Plazma with 600mhz refresh rate.

Connecting LG 55LN5600 to Sony HTCT260H via ARC

I connected the LG's HDMI 1 IN(ARC) connection to the HTCT260H HDMI (ARC) connection. I connected my DirecTV box to the LG HDMI 2 connection, and my BluRay player to the LG HDMI 3 connection.

I set the LG Sound Out to External Speaker (Optical/HDMI ARC).
And I set the Sony sound bar Audio to TV/HDMI

With these setting no sound is heard. I also connected the optical cable as well. If I set the soundbar audio to OPTICAL I can hear everything fine.

Are there any additional setting I need to change to hear sound using the ARC function?

Answer:
You need to make sure you activate Simplink on the TV. Once you do that, and you have everything plugged in correctly, with the audio input set to optical/HDMI ARC, it will connect.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this system. The settings that have been made on the television have been made properly. No other setting changes should be needed, although only one audio connection should be made at a time. Any other setting changes would have to be in the external audio system.

Answer:
The 5600 has built in wireless, so nothing is needed besides unboxing the TV and turning it on. You can verify your signal strength by using the internet setup wizard on the tv or another wifi device capable of connecting to a list of available wireless networks that's in the same area as the tv.
