Answer:
As the other use says this is complete package it is a high quality 3D tv that does 2D well.

120hz is great and active you can only see 30hz.

2d to 3d conversion will let you watch anything from your cable provider in 3D (its not true 3D but it looks really good for sports)

Also active glasses make the TV much dark most passive glasses have a single layer of film and only block 60 units of light and active glasses have 2 and also black out one eye constantly blocking 200-250 units making the picture much darker.

Hope it helps.

Answer:
I was also looking for a 50 - 55 inch 3D TV. I looked at all available and decided with the LG. Don't go by comments about resolution being half as much as full 1080P or HD. That's all number games. You have to compare it for yourself. I did many side by side comparison and the picture on the LG was brighter and clearer than all others with the active glass technology. They all looked dim compared to LG. I also noticed slight flickering with the active glasses whereas with the LG there was no flickering at all. I use the 2D to 3D conversion feature on my LG and watch many 2D content in 3D very comfortably. So, it is more a personal preference not just technical specification that will make the difference.

Answer:
This is still a Passive 3D TV. This tv doesnt compare to the active technology that is in the panasonic and samsung. Passive works with 1/2 the resolution of active 3D so if you want cheap glasses with a resolutions that isnt even HD its great, if picture quality is a concern both panasonic and samsung blow it out of the water with FULL HD Resolution!

Answer:
This TV is essentially built in 3D. You need the TV (included), glasses (included), 3D source such as a Blu-Ray player (included) and 3D media such as a 3D Blu-Ray movie (not included). And then you are all set.

Answer:
THIS IS WAY BETTER 3D IMAGE, FOR STARTERS IT HAS DEPTH AND IMAGES POP OUT (depending on the scene of a movie of course) vs Panasonic it is only depth and can only be viewed by sitting in straight to the TV set. For Samsung is about less than the same compared to Panasonic.

Answer:
Here in Illinois we paid $1599 but it was well worth it. The glasses alone are a $200 value if purchased separately.

Answer:
There is a big debate about active VS passive and which is 1080p because active blocks 1 eye reducing the amount of brightness and pixel density. Passive blocks alternating lines at the refresh rate of the TV or 120hz Active does this only at 30hz when 3D mode is on.

My answer is 1080p 30 is not even out yet every one uses 1080p 24 (24 frames per second).

The LG is much more comfortable and they are both using the same source material. Stick with passive if you don't want to be constantly annoyed by your TV.
