What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible graphics LG hit the ball out of the park this their OLED models. Bright colors and deep darks. Motion without any blurring. All around excellent smart TV. Remote could have been better. Limits as to what user can do with it as well as a learning curve. Other than the remote and it's software this is an amazing TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great T I like everything about this TV except for the remote laser light control. However, you don't have to use it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great picture. Lip sync issues Bout this tv for super bowl. Was disappointed after installing to find that the audio and picture wasn’t in sync.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best viewing experience available for the home! I love this TV! It's the second one I've bought in two years, and there is no reason to shop around for any other brand. Everything advertised about this TV is true and accurate. The future is here!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with this purchase The picture is AMAZING and warrants a 5. Most of the ease of use is also a 5, but I downgrade 1 star because there's literally 0 documentation on the more advanced setup, such as building a custom list of channels. That's frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great overall TV Picture is one of the best I've ever seen, crisp, clear, and deep colors. Setup was a breeze. Would have rated 5 stars except that less than 2 weeks of watching it a thin horizontal line showed up and I had to return for a new one. Had the new ome for a little over a week and no problems so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fabulous set very happy with it. picture is excellent but for deep black scenes it still can't match an old CRT. sound quality isn't great but that is what you you get for a super thin tv. speaker quality is proportional to size so ante up for a true surround speaker set if you need to watch some movies. user interface is very good. the top ranking by review magazines is justified

Do 2017 oleds sold in the U.S. have ATSC 3.0?

Asked by: cldlhd
The TV would not have ATSC 3.0 because it hasn’t been fully released in the US as of yet. The ATSC expects that consumer products with ATSC 3.0 will be introduced in 2019 or 2020. ^AC

will VRR (variable refresh rate) be implemented in this TV via firmware upgrade? If not, will the newer B8 announced at CES get it?

Asked by: mel0d
Although Variable Refresh Rate is a part of the HDMI 2.1 specification, There weren't any announcements made at CES2018 about it being available on any of our 2018 TVs or it being possible via a firmware upgrade. Variable Refresh Rate offers the ability to display the source frame 1:1 at a given time which is particularly useful for gamers as the frame-rate continuously fluctuates when the v-sync is disabled. So if a game is rendered between 23-47fps, the motion will not appear smoothly on any fixed refresh-rate displays. It is a concept that applies to computer monitors and not TVs. Films and Videos have a fixed rate. At CES2017 when the HDMI forum announced the then-upcoming release of the HDMI 2.1 specification, mentioned was that HDMI 2.1 also features a mode similar to FreeSync / AdaptiveSync, which in the HDMI space is being called Game Mode VRR which features variable refresh rate, which enables a 3D graphics processor to display the image at the moment it is rendered for more fluid and better-detailed gameplay, and for reducing or eliminating lag, stutter, and frame tearing. That is what has lead many people to speculate that it's the most likely thing to be implemented in TVs. Regrettably, we cannot confirm this...^IFV

I am looking for the equivalent TV model to the OLED55B7A in China. It seems the OLED55B7P-C 55 is the same TV correct? If so, would I be able to use the firmware from the US version on the China version so I can get English software on the TV?

Asked by: mel0d
The LG B7A OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55B7a and the LG B7 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55B7P have the same GUI, the same features, and Specifications with the only difference being that the B7A series does not have a built-in Dolby Atmos Decoder. The reason that firmware updates are done on a regional basis is that OLEDS released for the Chinese market have different chipsets and will not be compatible with firmware updates for the U.S. released OLEDs...^IFV
