What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stunning picture, the sound... Not so much. I purchased this specifically for the OLED picture quality, and it did not disappoint at ALL! The Atmos, built in 'soundbar' and other audio features I considered a bonus, as I have a Denon AVR-X2400H on the way. Unfortunately, I've experienced several issues with the built-in sound. With my U-verse, I experience sound delays of over 2 seconds using any sound enhancements other than Atmos. This did not occur with my Samsung LED and does not occur with the Amazon app or my PC. I'm hoping it will not occur at all with Dish, as I am switching to it for native 4k. All external sources are connected with high quality HDMI cabling. The 2nd issue is more serious and definitely internal to the set. At random intervals with U-verse and Amazon, I experience varying volume levels from normal to very low, and/or complete loss of the vocal track. This occurs even with ALL sound enhancements turned off. I am not sure yet whether this occurs with my PC, but have no reason to expect that it wouldn't. I will let you know if I experience any of these issues using my new receiver, as this would be entirely unacceptable. As much as I love the picture, if the sound problems are not unique to my set, I would be unable to recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular It’s like the first time I saw HD all over again. This set is beautifully designed with its glass edge, contemporary look, and great sound out of the box. It’s a work of art.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beyond great picture, terrible sound 5 star picture, 1 star sound. Picture will blow you away, but audio sync issues are unacceptably bad. As other users have noted, the picture is fantastic. The audio syncing is terrible - and it varies from channel to channel and between service providers. Almost no sync issues with Netflix. However, with Verizon FIOS, it makes AMC almost unwatchable while HBO has occasional sync issues. Worse, they are not static. If you use the settings in the TV menu to adjust the sync, it changes 10 minutes later on the same channel so you have to re-adjust. Unacceptable for a 2017 TV. Every TV I have ever owned has never had a problem with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best and most advanced Television available. Purchased OLED65E7P for our living room. Absolutely stunning picture. I was so impressed with this TV that I purchased a OLED55E7P for our bedroom the following week .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best TV The OLED55E7P is the best TV that I have owned. Outstanding picture quality. The audio soundbar is also very good. My only recommendation would be to eliminate the captive power cord and replace it with a grounded IEC connector so that the end user can install a high end power cord. This action can afford a significant improvement in both audio and video quality. The high end audio/video community has demonstrated this for several decades.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV, but there is vertical banding I've been watching a lot of 4K/HDR content on this TV, as well as 1080p stuff. Great picture, great colors, great blacks. I stream a lot of stuff from a PC on my network, and the TV handles it all very well. The menus and remote are superior to the competing 65" OLED, and it's very intuitive to use. There are only two negatives with this TV; image retention/potential burn-in, and vertical banding. You'll notice the banding in dark scenes with horizontal panning. I decided to live with the banding since nobody else noticed it in my house, but it is really irritating, and you will typically notice it 1-3 times during a movie. Other people say they have image burn-in on this TV, so I'm careful about avoiding any static images on the screen; I'll zoom in the picture to cut off logos that are in the corners of a lot of youtube content for instance. On a relatively high end TV neither of these problems should exist, but they do, so get this TV only if you can live with them. For me, it's worth it for the superior OLED picture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Picture with intermittent sound problems Purchased this E7 about a month ago and we are impressed with the sets picture performance However we have been dealing with an audio issue that can only be resolved by changing to another channel then back again. We have named it the Darth Vader effect and yes the audio morphs into this unique low frequency broken and garbled sound from the speaker. It will happen while streaming Vudu, Amazon Prime, Netflix or while watching DirecTv. I'm debating the timing of when to go into a warranty claim situation with LG. I have seen that an October firmware update is heading our way and hoping this issue is already known and there is an updatable solution coming. As for its frequency, it occurs it's about 3 times per night.

I understand the picture is great, how is it for sports, football, NBA , Baseball etc? Hows the refresh rate? Thanks

Asked by: heavyfoot
Refresh rate is an LCD specification and the LG E7 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55E7P is an emissive technology like Plasma TVs were and they respond up to 200 times faster (conservative estimate) than LCDs and they produce truer colors (and a true black) through a much bigger viewing angle. OLED 4K TVs are capable of delivering perfect local dimming right down to the single-pixel level of precision (in a 4K TV this effectively means 8.29 million local dimming zones ) and due to the total black they can create by deactivating pixels, OLED TVs also deliver perfect, infinite contrast...^IFV

Which of ypur new OLED TVs are 3D glasses free? Thank you..

Asked by: Requestruss
Neither the LG E7 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55E7P nor any of our 2017 OLED TVs or any of the 2017 TV lineup support 3D. The 2016 G6P, E6P and C6P series OLEDs were the last to support 3D and they all required 3D glasses.(2 pairs of 3D glasses came with the TVs as included accessories)...^IFV

When I view the dolby atmos videos (sample ones) that are designed to show off this tv they constantly stop after a few seconds and the stream loads up but it is stop & start. No problem viewing 4K videos from youtube, only these demo videos.

Asked by: kulczge
We do apologize about the issue you are experiencing with this TV. The issue you are experiencing with the Dolby App would be caused by their server. There unfortunately would not be a resolution LG can provide for this issue.
