Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV with a Few Quirks The picture and sound are absolutely fantastic, but it does require a little finagling to get your AV system to be able to use the soundbar. Basically, you have to disable your volume control from your AV receiver and allow the soundbar to control volume. You might be able to connect at Optical Audio from the AV receiver to the Soundbar if they are in close proximity but if you have them in separate rooms, it becomes a problem with length of the Optical Audio.

The way the sound bar, with all the inputs/components, hooks to the TV should have multiple options for people who purchase this TV. I guarantee that at least 90% of the owners of this TV already have their own sound system, which makes the sound bar unusable. If LG offered a small box with the necessary components to operate this TV or at least sold longer extension cables so the sound bar could be hidden from sight would be the best way to improve this set. Plus, the cable is not very flexible, giving you not many options to run the ribbon cable, and any other cable, behind the TV, but the TV sits so flush on the wall, some of these ideas aren't even options. I've been looking to buy an additional ribbon cable to extend the sound bar far enough where it's out of sight, but I can't find anyone who sells this cable by itself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Idea, Room for Improvement I absolutely love the idea of an ultra thin display while putting all of the components in a separate wired enclosure (in this case the soundbar). Some have complained about the ribbon cable but as long as the picture is crisp, I don't care what kind of cable they used. However, the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there should be an option to use a smaller component enclosure instead of the soundbar. A TV this size and impressive should have its own premier stand alone audio system. I imagine most owners wouldn't use the included soundbar so a smaller enclosure that is easily hidden would be much more favorable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great picture with disappointing audio We are remodeling and decided to get the 65 inch "wallpaper" TV to open up space in our small living room. From this standpoint it has worked out well. Like others have said, for those with a good AV sound system it would be nice to provide a small AV box that could be hidden. Since I knew there was no such option, I won't deduct any stars for this. But I will deduct 2 stars for not having a way to add a subwoofer to the included sound bar (aka AV bar). As best I can tell, I HAVE to use an external sound system (AV receiver) to use a subwoofer (in which case no sound can come from the sound bar--what a waste). Since this seems to be the case, it would have been nice to at least let the sound bar act as the center speaker for a home theater system. That way, the sound bar would be useful as more than a connection box. But this can't be done either. Unless I am wrong, this is a poor design. (It would even be nice if a wireless subwoofer could be used a la the inexpensive 2.1 LG sound bar.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Everyone's Cup Of Tea I truly have become an LG loyalist. I admire their technological advancements and design. This OLED65W7P is gorgeous. But I don't own it. Wish I could afford it, and if I could, wish I could fit it in my available space. Which brings me to my point. Why can't/won't LG offer this tech in a smaller spec? I wanted an LG OLED after viewing one at a retailer. My problem was compounded. Not only did LG not offer an OLED in the maximum size I could fit in my living room (43"), but the plaster and lath walls of my old house would not support its' weight. There were no studs in that area. This tech at 43" would have been ideal for my installation, and surely it would have cost less. I had to settle for another model LG 4K HD place it on a TV table.

Its so amazing... but though the technologies brought by Dolby does it still 3D capable?

Do these tv's need to be calibrated

Calibrating the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W - 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65W7P should be the first step you take to improve the picture quality because an incorrectly calibrated TV will have a poor picture quality, resulting in a sub-par viewing experience. The best option is to get it calibrated professionally. The TV comes with factory settings that are are not the ones you want permanently as they are designed for the in-store setting with lots of bright, ambient light. However, you should reset to the factory settings so that you can use it as a foundation when calibrating the display for your own environment. You can do a rudimentary calibration by going into the TV's settings if you are prepared to spend time making the necessary adjustments but the best results are to have it professionally calibrated...^IFV
