Our WM3431HW unit doesn't dry very well

The clothes always come out damp, even if I repeat the drying cycle a few times.

Could it be that the unit is clogged with lint? What should we do?

Answer:
Why LG won't ever answer this question properly is beyond me. Yes--there will be a huge build of lint (wet# that resides in a plastic container #looks sort of like a gallon milk jug) in the back of the machine at the bottom of the right side. This also explains why the machine sometimes smells of mildew. To get to the build up is incredibly labor intensive. I get to it by removing the top of the machine and taking off the top of the round compartment. From there, I snake it, I have a hanger that I use. I can't ever get it all out but I can usually get enough out to get the dryer to work again for another 6-7 months. I know there is a way to actually remove the container but I think it involves practically disassembling the unit. I believe there is a video on You Tube of someone snaking the machine which I found very helpful. Good luck.

Answer:
If moisture is still in the unit, then yes, it could be caused by a lint buildup in the machine. Check the drain hose behind the unit, as well as the COIN TRAP on the front of the unit. It is also suggested to check the DRY settings on cycle in use. If these do not resolve the matter, then please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional troubleshooting steps.

We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this combination washer/dryer unit. Is there a heat element that can go bad on this unit?

I have the WM3431HW all-in-one washer/dryer combo in my apartment... and have had no problems at all with it for the last year. In the last week or so, it seems something it causing my clothes to NOT be dry; even after several cycles through "dry only." I'm wondering if there is a heating element that can possibly go bad? At the completion of a 90 minute dry-only-cycle, my clothes are still wet and not warm at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
