What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't dry, small loads, noisy Like others have said IT DOESNT DRY YOUR CLOTHES! The machine takes about 4-5 hours to do one (very small) load of laundry - about an hour washing & spinning and 3 hours drying, and they're still damp. Also, mine has just started malfunctioning and soaking the clothes while it's on the "dry only" cycle - put my work clothes in to dewrinkle, came back and they were SOAKED! Overall, this machine would be a good option for a person who only washes a couple things at a time and can wait 5+ hours for it to finish aka no one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for a wheelchair user! Yes, this model is small, and yes, it takes longer than a regular laundry pair. But as a wheelchair user, not having to handle wet clothes is a real plus. You put dry dirty clothes in, you get dry clean clothes out. As long as I only fill the drum half full, I have not had any problem with damp clothes. If I wash a bigger load, I have to extend the drying time. If I start a load before dinner it will be done before bedtime, which is good enough for me. Then I can use the delay wash and have it run a second load overnight so that it finishes first thing in the morning. I like that there is a timer on the front that tells you how long is left before it finishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great RV Washer Dryer Unit I replaced my much smaller unit in our Motorhome with this model. It has four times the cycles and about a third size larger tub. Because this is a vent-less type dryer, it does take longer to dry the clothes and put humidity into the air. Clothes come out clean and overall I am very pleased with this washer dryer combination unit. It is very well built and can be programmed with extra cycles through a app on your android phone. Very useful function. Loads can also be tracked to inform you as to when it's time to clean the tub. Would have given five stars if the dryer was vented. Overall I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Cramped for space? Want to save money? For the cost of separate washer and dryers you can just get this unit and save not only money but room as well. No stacking like some you see just one that does it all. In a hurry? There is a "Speed cycle" that does what it says. I would have given this a 5 star IF it were a top loader.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from VERY Noisy I can only have a combo unit in my house due to lack of space to put a separate dryer. I love this unit in theory because it allows me to have both (it is installed in my kitchen.) This washer works ok for washing clothes, but the drying feature is TERRIBLE. After having it for less than a year it has started making an incredibly loud vibrating noise that cycles on and off for the entirety of the 3-5 hour drying cycle. Since I have a small, open-floor plan house, you can hear this noise in every single room. We can't even hear the TV over the sound of the dryer, meaning all of the drying has to be done while at work or while sleeping (not convenient).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for apartment living I've had this combo machine for a year and a half now. It took some getting used to but I love it in spite of the fact that I've had the pump replaced once (collected a hair pin) and had the technician here recently to scrub all the lint out of the insides. This machine does need a little babying. This unit is relatively quiet if you don't mind the sound of the pump running during the dry cycle. I can barely hear the wash cycle. Yes the clothes come out mildly damp but they are dry in a few minutes. And yes if you over dry them they will wrinkle because it gets crazy hot in there. Like the other reviewers mentioned you have to wipe down the seals after each use for lint, and the clothes can get linty but this usually happens when you don't run the self cleaning cycle often enough or if you overload it. The reason I love this machine is because I can use it in my old rental apartment and avoid leaving the house to clean my clothes. The clothes come out VERY clean and it hardly uses any water. It's already paid for itself in convenience and my electricity bill only went up around $3.00 a month while doing approximately 5-7 loads a week. If you are in a situation where you can't vent or want an environmentally friendly washing option I would highly recommend this machine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WORST WASTE OF LIFE EVER This thing washes, but LEGIT does not dry. takes 8 hours just to do a few towels? and they still come out damp, are you kidding me????? better off paying a laundry service to do your clothes rather than racking up your electric bill and wasting all your time " Re-Dying" your clothes. so annoying and so angry.

I have trouble drying. I have tried everything others posted including cleaning the lint trap (lower left drain), removing 1/2 the load, and turning off the water valves. 3 hours and all it does is heat the clothes but they remain wet. Can this vent it?

Asked by: HansH
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. It is suggested to attempt running the cycle with a faster spin speed, and perhaps setting the DRY cycle to MORE. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Really like your product and want to ask about the best location in the house to install. Does this need to be placed in an open area of a room or can it go into either a closet with door or to an open closet with out a door?

Asked by: Peter F
We are excited to read that you like our product. Thank you for the support and for purchasing it. The LG 24" Compact Washer / Dryer Combo, Model # WM3455HW can be placed in any of the locations that you described as long as it is a convenient location for you. The washer has to be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet (120 VAC, 60 Hz, grounded outlet) which must be within 60 inches on either side of the unit. To ensure sufficient clearance for water lines and airflow, you will need to allow a minimum clearance of at least 1 inch on the sides and 4 inches in the back. The flooring should be solidly constructed and must be rigid enough to support the weight of the machine when it is fully loaded without flexing or bouncing. If the floor has too much flex, it will need to be reinforced. It cannot be installed on carpeting or soft tile surfaces...^IFV

How do I use the washer without activating a dry cycle? The taps are hooked up correctly. I washed a sweater in the will cycle and it shrunk completely. Not happy.

Asked by: Not happy still
You can just run a wash cycle on the LG 24" Compact Washer / Dryer Combo, WM3455HW by not setting dryer settings at all. Each cycle in the WM3455HW has default settings that are selected automatically and the Handwash/Wool cycle automatically defaults to a Cold Wash and a Cold Rinse...^IFV

Asked by: Justinc
The LG 24" Compact Washer / Dryer Combo, Model # WM3455HW does not have a lint filter, but it does have a drain pump filter that needs to be checked periodically to ensure that it is not clogged with foreign objects or lint that could prevent it from draining. in the bottom right corner of the washer as you face it is the drain pump cover behind which sits the drain pump filter...^IFV

Our LG WM3455HW has been working well for five years, but water is no longer draining from inside the drum. We have to manually drain it via the plug at the bottom right-hand, which we never had to before. How do we fix this?

The wash and dry cycle began with a 2 hour time frame then suddenly jumped to 4 hours. Is this normal?

Asked by: Lolo1
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washer / dryer combination machine. The display readout is designed to provide an estimated time remaining for the cycle. This time can vary according to the cycle chosen, the fabrics in use, and the amount of detergent left in the cycle. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to advise of what cycles are in use, that we might better determine if this is normal for the options selected.
