What People Are Saying

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Less Than Good- Buy a Different Machine I regret purchasing this machine. It's not quiet as other reviews mention. Does not clean cloths well. Takes an unreasonable amount of time for a small load, and no lint trap, leaving it all over the cloths. July 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by quite No noise, love it , if it's not broken why fix it. Great cleaning power. May 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wrinkles I have a lot of LG products(TV, microwave, washer, dryer). They usually have a good dependable product, but my wife is very disappointed with this product. All of the clothes come our wrinkled, and she does use fabric softener. If I could trade it in I would get the stackable washer/dryer for the apartment that we're going to move into. The LG washer and dryer that we had, she loved. She is not pleased with the length of time that it take to do a load of clothes. When doing a large load (a set of king size sheets and pillow cases) the washing and drying spin cycle is very noisy from the vibration.. April 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME PRODUCT This compact, durable, and efficient machine fits well in my small laundry closet, where I opted to have one machine versus two or even the bulky and awkward "stacking" combo machines. The machine is pricey but provides a good investment when considering the energy expense of running it year round. I echo other reviewers' recommendation to read the manual carefully to take most advantage of the nice features. This kind of dryer seems to take a bit longer than the vented kind to finish drying laundry. LG provides helpful customer support on their website. Overall excellent product. April 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great works better than expected, follow the instructions and dries in one step. April 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent cleaning capacity This little washer/dryer combo does a great job in getting clothes/linens clean. It takes up such little space and really does a great job. After clothes are dried, they definitely feel damp, but once you shake them out a few times the humidity goes away and they are much drier than they initially seem. I hang dry most of my clothing, so we use the dryer mostly for towels, sheets, and my husbands t-shirts. I highly recommend! February 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the space It's a cool little unit. It washes just fine with lots of little bells and whistles....no! Really! Little tinkiley sounds. And it dries, as most most reviews will support, slowly. Were glad to have it. February 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Compact, efficient, attractive Perfect for apartments, highly efficient, easy to use, February 17, 2015

My machine shakes violently during the spin cycle

I recently purchased the washer/dryer for my new home in Queretaro Mexico. during the installation I ensured that all feet were well adjusted and the machine is level. Although when it goes into the spin cycle it shakes violently, moving all around and banging the walls. I really need someone to come to my home and fix properly. I think something is wrong on the inside, I have had the machine 4 weeks, purchased from SAMS.

Answer:
I also purchased this one month ago for my new condo in Newport RI. The first one they delivered to me was shaking like crazy during the spin cycle. We had an LG Technician come to look at it and he said that the "drive shaft" was bent. We had only used it a half dozen times trying each time to adjust the feet, the size load...we even bought rubber "silent feet" to got under it but nothing worked. So, yesterday they delivered us a new machine. Today, I did my first load...SAME PROBLEM! The vibration is so bad I stopped it ,,,,couldn't finish washing the clothes.

Answer:
LG Advocate is correct see Installation Instructions in Manual under Unpacking for images:
IMPORTANT: To prevent internal damage
during transport, the washer is equipped with
4 shipping bolts and plastic retainers. These
bolts and retainers MUST be removed before
operating the washer.
• Failure to remove shipping bolts and retainers
may cause severe vibration and noise, which can
lead to permanent damage to the washer. The
cord is secured to the back of the washer with
a shipping bolt to help prevent operation with
shipping bolts in place.

Answer:
Check that the "packaging support" material has been removed from the underside of the unit. As shown below, the packing support piece sits on the base packing piece and the washing machine sits on top. The packing support piece fits up into the machine and nestles against the bottom of the tub. If this is not removed, vibration will occur. It is white and made of foam.

Check that all four shipping bolts have been removed. These bolts, as shown below, screw through the back of the unit and into the back of the outer tub. This secures the tub during transit, so it does not bounce around and damage internal parts. If these bolts are not removed, the unit will vibrate, even "walk" across the floor.

If the unit is mounted on a pedestal, check that all four pedestal brackets are attached. There should be two on each side. The brackets attach to the pedestal with two screws each and to the unit with a very strong adhesive. Remove the screws from the pedestal brackets. If the brackets come off, check to see if the paper over the adhesive is removed (if not, remove it). Reattach the brackets and press firmly on the top of the bracket to adhere the brackets to the washer. Rub back and forth, firmly.
Washing Machine
Vibrations
For new installations, check the following:

For all, check the following:

1. Vibrations only occur on some, but not all loads.

If this only happens on some loads, it could the load type rather than the washer.

Check if the load is small or large, consists of mixed fabric types (such as jeans and t-shirts), or is a large item (sheets, blankets, etc.)

Items in the drum may not distribute evenly across the surface of the drum which can cause vibrations. If this seems to be the case, pause the cycle and move the clothes around and restart. It may be necessary to use a lower spin speed to minimize this.

If your unit has the SpinSense Feature, activate it. This will allow the unit to detect vibrations in the unit sooner and accommodate for them.

2. Are the clearance requirements at the sides, back and top met?

The unit requires one inch clearance on top, one inch at the sides (in addition to requirements of a companion appliance), and four inches at the back. If clearance requirements are not met, vibrations can result.

3. Check for foreign objects under the feet of the unit. If there is anything under any of the feet, this will prevent the unit from being properly leveled. Vibrations and slipping may occur. If an object (such as cardboard or wood) is under the foot because the unit is not level, then the foreign object should be removed and the unit leveled.

4. Make sure that the unit is leveled. When the unit is in a spin cycle, make very slight adjustments to the feet. Even a quarter of a turn can stop the unit from vibrating.

Answer:
I set pretty much all my dry times at 1:30.
The clothes are still hot and slightly damp, but I find this a perfect time to hang them. No wrinkles, and within an hour they are ready for the closet.
The towels I also do at 1:30, then toss them over the shower curtain rod. Then I fold them a bit later.

Over an hour for t-shirts, and you'd better not put more than 4 at a time or they'll be wrinkled. 2-3 hours for a set of towels.

Answer:
yes it takes a longer time for your clothes to dry what they don't tell you is that your clothes will not come out dry and crisp like a regular dryer.your clothes will come out hot and damp.and you are going to have to hang them around the house to dry.so you can leave one tee shirt in the dryer for hours and it will not be completely dry.

Thanks for the heads up on the width of the pedestal here.
I have also been looking for a pedestal. The only one I can find is at Sears outlet. It's designed for a 24" washer, but it has no drawer. The search continues.

Answer:
It should be the WDP4W, but it is not. That pedestal is designed for the wider machines. The smaller ones don't attach. I was misled into purchasing this pedestal, too, but the washer simply sits atop it. The pedestal has gray corner bits that look out of place with the small washer between them, further calling attention to the size mismatch. (These are for attaching the proper size machines.) We removed the corner bits to improve the appearance, but the machine still vibrates loudly during the spin cycle. You still have the advantage of the storage and elevated washer height, but be warned that it looks silly and is not secure.

Answer:
The WM3455HW uses a condensing dryer system. Conventional dryers heat and circulate air throughout the clothes, picking up lint and moisture, and then passing it out of the unit. All that air and energy is then thrown out of the unit along with the energy it took to cool/heat that air. The heater has to reheat/cool that air again.

Water based condensers are popular in combination washer/dryer units. The air inside the machine is heated and circulated through the clothes, then passed through a chamber where the contact with a fine mist of cold water causes the moisture to condense. The condensate collects in the bottom of the chamber and is pumped down the same drain as was the wash water. The dry air is then re-circulated through the clothes to begin the process again. This is a sealed system with no discharge of heat, lint, or humidity.

Due to this type of system, additional time cannot be added to the cycle. All time must be set at the beginning of the washing cycle in order for the necessary amount of hot water to be used to produce enough heat to allow the condensation process to work.
