Answer:
The door handle is on the right (the hinge is on the left).

Ideally you would install the washer to the left of your dryer.

Answer:
You can stop the cycle at any time. The door will unlock after a few seconds and allow you to add more to the wash.

Answer:
I'm not sure how long into the cycle it works, but you can hit the "start" button to pause the cycle. It takes a few seconds, but the washer will stop and unlock to add more items. I've only added items toward the beginning of the cycle when it's still adding water.

I heard that you have to leave the door to the washer open after all loads or else a funky moldy smell develops. True?

Answer:
Just wipe the rubber seal in the front with diluted bleach every week and that should help with the moldy smells. There is also a special washer cleaner you can use monthly.

Answer:
I have not had a problem with smell in the washer. I was always in the habit of leaving my washer lid open on my old washer so that it would dry, and I still do it on my new one. There is also a tub cleaning product that you may use to keep your washer clean and fresh. You can buy it at the grocery store.

Answer:
It's not recommended to leave the door open after using this LG SteamWasher 3.6 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer.

It is necessary to periodically clean the washing machine to help maintain its performance and to minimize the chance of malfunction and use only HE (High-Efficiency) detergent for this front-loading washing machine.

Improper installation or use of the washing machine in a humid space for a long period of time potentially could lead to a buildup of detergent residue in the washing machine that may produce mildew or musty smells. If you clean the washer tub regularly on a monthly basis using TUB CLEAN it
will minimize the possibility that detergent residue will build up and mildew or musty smells may occur.

Answer:
The washing machine is designed to play a melody when the wash cycle if finished. The buttons make a sound each time a button is pressed. The melody and button tones can be turned off, as desired, by pressing and holding the WATER PLUS button for 3 seconds, during the wash cycle. This information can be found on page 27 of the owner’s manual.
