Answer:
Yes, my washer has a magnet that keeps the door ajar, just enough to let air flow through the machine so it doesn't have that issue.

Answer:
They tell you to leave the front door open for a few days after use (we always leave it open and have never had mold). They also tell you to wipe the rubber door seal (on the door and the washer itself, inside and outside) with white vinegar and water - we haven't done that yet and, still, no issue yet. We had our 4.0 size for 5 years and now the 5.1 size for 6 months.

Personally I have not had an issue. I have owned this for several months. I always take out my clothes when they are finished and leave the door on the magnetic hold open latch. Have not even had to run a drum cleaning cycle yet.

Answer:
My machine has no mold odor since I use the magnetic hold feature to keep the door open slightly when not in use.
The mold on front load machines builds up under the wet seal at the bottom in particular if the door is closed completely after washing. The water on the seal doesn't get a chance to evaporate.

Answer:
Yes. This washer has a special feature (called a "magnetic plunger") that keeps the door slightly open to allow air to circulate into the drum. It also has a "drum clean" cycle, which, if used approximately monthly, will keep the machine fresh and clean. The door seal is also smaller in width, which ensures that there's less of a place for mold and mildew to grow. Hope this helps!

WM8000HVA vs HWA

What is the difference between the WM8000 HWA and HVA model? They seem identical when I compared them on your website, but there is a $100 price difference.

Left hinged washing machine to be connected on the left side of the laundry area where the faucet is always located so that clothes can easily be transferred to the the right hinged dryer on the right side of the laundry room where the exhaust vent is always located...makes sense right!!??

Answer:
The door on this model is not reversible, unfortunately. The hinge is located on the left. The way my plumbing and dryer vent is set up right now I have to have the washer on the right and the dryer on the left. (Hopefully we can change that soon. . .) My previous front-loader also did not have a reversible door, so I'm used to it. In my opinion, this is NOT a deal-breaker. The machine is so great, I'm willing to put up with a little inconvenience.

From what I've read on answers to other washers, they do not make the doors on the washers reversible. I believe the hinge is on the left side.

Unfortuantely, I can only fit one of the new LG extra large capacity washer/dryers in my laundry space due to the extra width of each machine.
I was thinking of purchasing the 5.1 cubic ft washer, but was concerned that I will probably have to go with a 7.3 capacity dryer.
Do you think that will be big enough to handle the larger capacity washing machine?
If I can not fit both of the LG larger capacity machines, should I not consider the 5.1 washer and instead look at 4.4 - 4.5 capacity machines? Thank you!

Could you stack the units? It would be best if you could somehow get the DLEX8000W but if you can't you could do smaller loads in the washer, there is that option on the machine.

Answer:
I purchased the washer only and used my old dryer that is 7.3 cubic feet. After a few weeks and the dryer not being able to handle the large loads I was back at HH Greg buying the 9 cubic foot dryer! I had to cut down my load size just so the dryer could handle it! What is the point of having a huge washer if the dryer cannot handle the large loads? I would look at the smaller capacity sets. I think you'll be disappointed like I was.
