Answer:
We first used powder and didn't like it because some was left in the tray, or I forgot to close the tray when I was finished putting soap in it.

We switched to 'pods' and just throw them in the washer and bypass the trays. Works well but it takes 2 pods since we always do large loads because the washer is so big.

Would recommend Tide Liquid HE, it seems to clean very well in all the different temperature settings. Also use Downy Liquid HE fabric softener.

We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. The manufacturer does not recommend any particular detergent. It is only required to have a low-sudsing, High Efficiency detergent.

Why does the spin cycle constantly show error and stops?

Anytime I wash blankets, sheets, quilts, etc., the spin cycle is off balance. The error light appears and my clothes sit there until I discover the problem and manually rearrange them in the washer. I am not overloading the machine and I am very careful in the way I place the items in the drum hoping to help the washer stay balanced. Very frustrated.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. It is recommended to check the leveling of the washer, as well as the possibility that the tub support might be under the washer. Both can contribute to such situations. If these are not the case, then the washer may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

I washed a king size quilt, which is heavier than a comforter and it did a beautiful job. Just make sure you use the bulky bedding setting. you will notice it uses a lot more water than regular loads.

Our laundry room is also upstairs. With our old unit the windows would rattle during spin cycle. With this unit we haven't heard or felt it once.

No ours hardly moves at all and unlike older washers if the load is uneven it stops spinning and allows you to readjust the load.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If vibrations are experienced with the spin speeds generated, it would be recommended to make sure the unit is properly balanced and leveled, and then be certain that the floor of the laundry room is stable, and does not allow any “bounce”. These are typically the most common causes of vibrations. If this does not resolve the matter, then the washer may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Sometimes I find a sock or something that I dropped on the way to the washer, or have something that only needs to agitate for a minute or two. Most top load washers I've used I'm able to open the lid and toss something in if I need, but I'm not sure with all the new safety and control features on really new machines. Thanks for your help!

Answer:
the machine should lock during operation so you can't just open the lid to toss in a sock. you just need to press the start/pause button. this will pause the wash, when the wash has completely stopped (child safety issue) the door will unlock and you can add items. then close the door and press the start/pause button again and the cycle will resume.
