Does this machine attach directly to the kitchen water faucet? Or does it have to be hooked up to hot and cold water pipes?

Answer:
You would want this hooked up to hot and cold water, but if you need to use the kitchen water it should provide both.

I have had nothing but problems with it, and I have tried to get LG to replace it. I wrote a review about my issues, but I have found it takes hours to do a load of laundry because it is constantly unbalanced and drains and tries to re-balance repeatedly!

I have the same issue and this is what makes me despise this washer. My old washer I could set from 30-6 minutes depending on soil level.

Why does the spin cycle constantly show error and stops?

Anytime I wash blankets, sheets, quilts, etc., the spin cycle is off balance. The error light appears and my clothes sit there until I discover the problem and manually rearrange them in the washer. I am not overloading the machine and I am very careful in the way I place the items in the drum hoping to help the washer stay balanced. Very frustrated.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. It is recommended to check the leveling of the washer, as well as the possibility that the tub support might be under the washer. Both can contribute to such situations. If these are not the case, then the washer may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
you have a choice here.... depending on the soil level you choose... whether you want it to do a second rinse... etc. Anywhere from 31 or 37 minutes to 115 minutes I think! Of course a simple rinse and spin is less. It's all up to you in how you program the load :) I love this machine!

Our laundry room is also upstairs. With our old unit the windows would rattle during spin cycle. With this unit we haven't heard or felt it once.

No ours hardly moves at all and unlike older washers if the load is uneven it stops spinning and allows you to readjust the load.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. If vibrations are experienced with the spin speeds generated, it would be recommended to make sure the unit is properly balanced and leveled, and then be certain that the floor of the laundry room is stable, and does not allow any “bounce”. These are typically the most common causes of vibrations. If this does not resolve the matter, then the washer may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....
