AddPause Laundry

Forget Something? No Problem.

This LG Washer has a built-in pause button that lets you pause your wash after it starts and drop in a stray piece of clothing

More free time

More free time

Towers of towels, piles of sweatshirts, and a mountain of jeans? Go for it. The ultra large capacity (4.5 cu.ft.) tub lets you do more laundry in fewer loads. That’s time saved and sore backs avoided.

A revolutionary spin on laundry

LG puts a modern spin on the traditional top load design. By moving the control panel from the back to the front, the buttons and LED display are easier to read and use. This simple change makes for a more intuitive and functional design and a look that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

Count on it

When you buy a washer, you want something reliable that you can count on. Because the Direct Drive Motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently, LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year warranty.

Save money. Save energy.

Save money. Save energy.

When your washer uses about 30% less energy and half the amount of water used by regular washers, you’re going to make an impact—on your utility bills, your energy and water consumption, and most importantly, the environment.

What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! We just bought this washer today... So far, I'm loving it! Works great and washes your clothes nicely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cleans awesome! Beats my front end loader hands down, my clothes actually get wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from so far so good We did 5 loads to get caught up after not having a washer for a week or so and after getting used to the on and off agitation and the pre-washing load balancing, now realizing it's part of the new electronic age we're in, it seems to work great. It's super quiet compared to our old jalopy we had and I will probably upgrade this to 5 stars as long as my clothes don't come out shredded, stained and of a different color. Happy so far!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from short people beware The basket is great that it is so large but being 5'1" it is difficult to reach clothes in bottom of basket without literally climbing over the top!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great after getting used to HE from agitator I have been using this for about 6 weeks now. Bought at Lowes due to the 30 day return if not satisfied. I wasn't happy about using HE as I really don't think they clean as well, and I REALLY didn't want the long wash times. I have used front loaders when we lived in Germany and Singapore, and since I had used them and didn't love them, I didn't feel the need to jump on the current "front loader" trend. We also would have had to move our machines to the basement laundry if we wanted to go with the front loader since they are soooo big here in the US. Our current 1st floor laundry room had an agitator washer and dryer with a small footprint. The salesman at Lowes recommended this model for its smaller size. I wasn't sold since this model doesn't have the highest CR ratings, but thought I'd give it a try since we had 30-days to return. At first, I didn't like it at all. I felt like in my first couple of loads, nothing was coming clean. Then on day 2, I decided to wash all our comforters, blankets, sheets, outdoor pillows -- this is when my opinion started to change. I was quite thrilled to wash HUGE loads that I used to have to wash as 3 seperate loads, and to be able to wash outdoor pillows, which wasn't even possible with my old agitator. Since I was feeling better about the washer, I decided to read the manuals. This also helped because I was using settings for my regular loads that weren't maximizing what I was washing. It takes some trial and error, but I have finally figured out what works for me when doing smelly workout clothes vs. stained kids clothes vs. a huge load of towels. Once I figured this out, I became quite happy with the washer. However, within my first 30-days I kept thinking about trading this model in for a Samsung top loader that had better reviews, but what I really love about this washer is the quick wash times, and I was afraid the Samsung would only do a quick wash on the "quick wash" setting. This LG senses your load before it starts, and since my loads are not typically huge (family of 4), this washer typically does a load in about 25 minutes -- even with my extra settings I use for various loads. This was one of my biggest concerns moving to HE, they tend to have long wash times, but this one has far exceeded my expectations with wash time. And now that I've figured out which cycles to use for various loads, my clothes seem to be cleaned well. To note a couple of complaints, if there are extra suds on clothes, you are probably using too much soap. I haven't heard the loud sounds some mention, although when this was first setup it was kind of loud, but my husband found it wasn't level, and once he adjusted that, the noise level is much lower than my agitator. Overall, I'm really happy that we tried this model out, it was a lower price point than most HEs and I don't feel like I sacrificed anything (well, unless decor is a main selling point for you, this model is pretty vanilla compared to the more colorful options you can find now). If I were to list a complaint, it would only be that I wish the units had flat tops. The washer and dryer both have a slight curve in its design that is supposed to make it look a little more modern (that's my guess at least), but I like to stack ontop of my W&D, so this would be what I would change. However, it is flat enough that I can keep two decorative baskets on the dryer, but it's not the same as a completely flat top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this washer! I bought it a month ago and love its features! It gets clothes very clean and has many energy savings options. Also, it's relatively quiet for a top loading washer, so it's a 10 in my book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great washer Delivered the washer today and did four loads of different sizes of comforters continuously for about 4 hours. Plenty of tub space quiet comforters came out clean. Have no complaints. Better than my 18 year old agitator washer which uses a lot of water

There is no permanent press cycle on this model.  What setting would you use to replicate that type of cycle?  I am finding that my work clothes are coming out very wrinkled.

Asked by: kcompanion
We appreciate your interest in this washer. The COTTON/NORMAL cycle would be the closest option to permanent press. It would also be suggested to perform a cold water rinse and remove the clothing as soon as possible from the washer to prevent wrinkling.

What is the reason you can NOT wash waterproof items?  Is Gore-Tex, breathable, waterproof items included in the ban?

Asked by: StumpedHunter
It is not that you "CANNOT" wash Waterproof or water resistant items in The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer with Front Control Design, Model # WT1501CW, but more that if possible, you should not wash such items in the washer. This washer features the Tag on feature which will allow you to download the Waterproof cycle so you can wash such items if you must. The reason for the warning with regards to washing or spinning waterproof items such as raincoats, sleeping bags etc., is because this is a High-Efficiency (HE) Washer which spins much faster than regular washers so it can extract more water so less dryer time is required saving you money which is how it earns its name as a "High Efficiency" washer. But waterproof or water-resistant items can increase the chance of loads becoming unbalanced in some washers, and that can cause excessive shaking and abnormal vibrations that can cause damage to you or your property. There is no "ban" and you should always follow the fabric care instructions supplied by the garment manufacturer that should be attached to the garment. If in doubt, you can contact your garment's manufacturer for advise on its care...^IFV

How to run small cycle? Or which features to use if I want to wash only one shirt.

Asked by: Jyoti
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. A single item should not be washed by itself. Doing so will result in the wash load becoming unbalanced, and can cause abnormal vibrations in the machine, which can potentially damage the product. For additional information, review the suggestions listed on page 14 of the owner’s manual.
