I have cleaned the tub, used all sorts of different HE products and my towels still smell awful, Even when I use bleach on the white ones, they still never smell clean. I have had this machine for over a year and towels smell worse each time I wash them because they haven't been properly disinfected for all this time. I also have the LG dryer model number DLE5001W and I use the antibacterial cycle to dry towels and they still smell very bad. I live in a humid environment and with washers from the past, I have ALWAYS had to wash towels in HOT only but I was NOT aware when I purchased this machine that this was not an option or I would have bought something different. Now I feel stuck with a machine that doesn't clean properly. It is very upsetting to reach for a "clean" towel and have my skin/hair smell mildewy. Is there a solution?

Answer:
I also live in a humid climate and have had the same problem with my towels smelling mildewy as well as my hair and skin after using a clean towel. What works for me is to use about one cup of baking soda and a few of cups of vinegar when I wash towels, in addition to my regular detergent. I just put the towels in, dump the baking soda on top of the towels and pour the vinegar on top. I load my detergent into the dispenser as usual. Also, I always do a double rinse. I no longer have smelly towels since I started doing this.

Answer:
You CAN change the temperature to hot. Just keep pressing the "Wash/Rinse" button underneath the selection panel. As you live in a humid climate, this is probably the culprit. I would ask my husband (or handy man) to flush out the rubber tubing. As you have cleaned the tub and use bleach -- I cannot think of anything else you can do. Best wishes!

Answer:
Actually, it's not the washer (or dryer) that's causing that smell. What I have found that avoids that smell is when you're done with a used wet towel, lie it over something to allow it to dry rather than balling it up. When it's dry it's then ok to put into your hamper until you're ready to launder it/them. I've gotten that smell on a couple of my towels years ago (way before purchasing my LG washer) and I've been allowing them to dry out for years now and no smell whatsoever. I never wash my towels on hot -- I use cold water for most things, except whites. Hope this helps!

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this product. If an odor is developing in the unit, it may need to have a TUB CLEAN cycle run on it. Open the door and remove any clothing that might be in the wash drum. Open the dispenser drawer. Add liquid chlorine bleach or tub cleaner. Some powder or tablet tub cleaners which are manufactured for this purpose can be used. Do NOT add any laundry detergent or fabric softener to the drawer when using the TUB CLEAN cycle. Add liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment of the drawer. Do not exceed the maximum fill line and do not pour undiluted liquid bleach directly into the wash drum. If you are using a powder cleaner, remove the liquid detergent cup and add powder cleaner to the main wash compartment of the drawer. If you are using a tablet cleaner, add the tablet directly into the wash drum. Do not place a tablet in the dispenser drawer. Close the drawer and washer door. Select TUB CLEAN and press START. It is recommended that the TUB CLEAN cycle should be repeated monthly. If a mildew or musty smell already exists, run the TUB CLEAN for 3 consecutive weeks. After the TUB CLEAN is complete, or when the washer is not used, leave the washer door open for better ventilation and drying inside of the washer

The amount of clothing in the washer has not made a difference. I adjust the clothes and start the washer again. The clothes are taking longer to wash. How can I resolve this issue?

Answer:
UE is the error displayed when the wash load in the tub is uneven. I've gotten this a few times and all I've had to do is redistribute the load. I no longer get this by making sure I put the heaviest items into the tub first following with items that are lighter.
But if you do get the error just redistribute the load and close the lid. Hit the start/pause button twice & the wash will resume.

Answer:
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The UE code is an Unbalanced Error. If adjusting the load size and/or the load position has not resolved the matter, and the cabinet is fully level, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

The tub of this top-load washing machine moves in several different methods. It is difficult to say whether or not this unit is operating properly without a more detailed description of the operation of the unit, the cycle on which it is set, and the size and contents of the load. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional assistance in this matter.

Cold is supposed to be 62 degrees I believe. Tap is whatever comes in. It makes no difference on my machine. It's all ice cold. Good luck!

Answer:
The COLD wash cycle tends to use water that is between 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and will add some hot water in order to achieve this temperature. The TAP COLD cycle will run only cold water, regardless of the water temperature.
