i have washed my king size comforter in mine and it was fine. the only thing is make sure that the comforter is evenly put inside so that it doesn't hit the sides of the machine when it spins.

You can definitely wash a king size comforter. I've washed a king size quilt, along with king size sheets and all the pillow cases and pillow shams. Does a great job.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. It may be possible to wash this comforter. It is difficult to say about this particular comforter, as they can vary in size and thickness. It is first recommended to check and confirm the washing instructions of the comforter in question. Second, if the comforter can be washed if it can be placed in the wash tub with sufficient room to tumble and yet not get out of balance.

I've read reviews that said this machine didn't handle small loads well, getting off balance, and taking a lot of babysitting to finish the cycle, was that possibly user error? Or does the machine have a minimum load recommendation?

Answer:
We did purchase this machine back in May and have washed a whole bunch of cloth diapers with no problems. Our routine for cloth diapers is: rinse/spin cycle with an extra rinse. Followed by hot wash (add the detergent here) heavy soil, and 2 extra rinses. Then I occasionally will do one more rinse spin at the end. I use the custom cycle setting to store the wash cycle we use for diapers. I haven't had any issues with small load sizes. The one thing I've found, is that if I'm only washing a couple things they need to be similar fabrics, or the machine will get imbalanced. We haven't had any problems with our water resistant wet bags or diaper covers either, they seem to slosh around just fine and get clean. The only thing I've noticed with that is if there is too much water in the machine they will just float at the top and not get agitated as much, so as long as the extra water setting isn't selected it seems to be fine. We go through lots of little laundry and love our washer!

Answer:
I have only had HUGE issues trying to wash smaller loads. The "load sensing" often takes 30+ min and sometimes even then the washer won't start. This washer is NOT IDEAL for washing diapers or small loads. often the water saving design seriously compromises the ability to get items clean. If you have small children I don't recommend this washer because you will spend the rest of your life trying to outsmart the washer so it will actually maybe get stains out.

I have not had any issues with small loads. I live alone - so I never have that much to do - and sometimes I through one item in. There is a cycle for small loads - runs about 35 min. This machine balances itself before it starts washing (which was weird at first!!) but I have never had it go off balance.

Answer:
I think this machine does a fantastic job with all load sizes. I have washed a single item and I have filled it to capacity. It's great (except don't ever wash anything water-resistant or water-proof - read the manual - on that count it's a technology paradox I cannot begin tor resolve). But it will do its load balancing routine on any size load. It might say "add garments" but that is just saying you CAN - not that you MUST.

Can I get the WT5070CW washing machine to do a 3 hour soak?

I want to soak linen tablecloths in Oxyclean for several hours to get stains out before the wash cycle starts. As far as I can tell from the manual and controls for my new WT5070CW washing machine, this is not an option. The soak feature adds only 30 minutes to the cycle, which is not long enough to get out serious stains like red wine. If I hit 'pause' or 'off' to try to trick the machine into stopping and letting the tablecloths soak, the machine will apparently spin the water out. Therefore, my questions are:

1. Is there a way to get this machine to do a 3+ hour soak?

2. If so, is there a way to then get it to continue to a wash cycle?

3. Regardless of answers to the above questions, can I add powdered oxyclean and liquid HE detergent to a normal soak/wash cycle? Or do I have to use a powdered detergent with powdered oxyclean?

I am guessing the answer to 1 & will be negative and I will have to run two consecutive cycles, which will be disappointing. Regardless, thank you for your attention to these questions.

Answer:
I have not had this problem but I have had a lot of experience with stains such as wine, blood and grass. I would recommend rubbing bleach, if it is a white garment, or color fast bleach or oxyclean to colored garments, into the stain and letting it sit overnite. Then put the garment in the washer with the recommended amount of soak and bleach. If it is cotton use the cotton/normal cycle. If it is a heavy linen table cloth use the heavy duty or bulky bedding cycle and set the presoak cycle. These machines are very gentle on clothing so you don't have to worry about any damage to the garment. If the stain still persist repeat these directions. If possible try to get to the stain before it sets.

Answer:
For question 3: Put the powdered Oxyclean in the bottom of your washer drum before adding clothes. It's on the instructions on the back of the Oxyclean container. Then load your clothes and put your detergent in the dispenser.

Good luck figuring out the soak question. I know there's a delayed start feature, but not sure about the increased soak time.

Answer:
I apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced in this matter. The SOAK cycle will only allow a one-time increase of 30 minutes to be added to your wash cycle. There is no known method available to “trick” the washer to allow a longer soak cycle. As for the OxyClean, it is not recommended to use any product in this washing machine unless it is specified for use with HE laundry devices. Check the OxyClean packaging. If it gives instructions on HE product usage, then follow those directions. If it does not, then we do not recommend using the product. When using more than one type of cleaner, they must both be of the same consistency: whether liquid or powdered.

no delicate cycle?

I currently have a 11 year-old front-loader that is wearing out. I wash my own dress shirts and I've heard top-loaders wrinkle these badly, as there is no delicate cycle (which I use for my dress shirts). Are there any comparable cycles on the top-loaders? Is the Perma-press cycle the most gentle option available?

Answer:
You are correct, there isn't a "delicate" cycle. However you can use the "wool" cycle or the "baby clothes" and you can customize a wash cycle at anytime and even save a preferred cycle that you might use frequently instead of one of the pre-programmed settings. Love this machine!
