What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mud is still caked on my jeans after washing! The best thing about this washing machine is the window top so you can see what a terrible job it is doing. It uses so little water that the clothes around the sides of the tub never even get wet. And it barely swishes the clothes around so mud is still caked on the knees of my jeans when the cycle is finished. The spin cycle is so violent that my clothes are tied into knots and everything comes out wrinkled - even permanent press. I don’t dare wash anything delicate in this LG high efficiency washer - handmade quilts, bathrobes with tie belts, or T-shirts with sequins. About the 9th time I used it, the water didn’t shut off and it overflowed the tub. A repairman came to replace a sensor, but about the 15th time I used it the washer overflowed again. I can’t leave this washing machine alone for a minute! After 11 months I finally started hand washing my clothes in the kitchen sink. This LG High Efficiency washer is worthless - the worst washing machine ever!!! I bought a new washer with agitator last week - works great! I’ll never buy LG again!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't clean my clothes! After 9 months of fighting with this washing machine, I finally started washing my clothes by hand in the kitchen sink. This washer has a glass top, so I can watch the entire cycle and the clothes in the top of the washing machine never even get wet ... except for when it forgets to stop filling and overflows the tub. They already replaced the water level sensor once, and it needs to be replaced again. My muddy jeans are still muddy after the spin cycle is completed - I literally take them out of the washer and carry them to the kitchen sink to scrub the mud off of my "clean clothes" with a brush and the mud comes right off. So what good is this washer? It sure doesn't clean my clothes! I bought a new washing machine today. Anyone who wants this worthless washer can have it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst washer ever This is the first washer we have ever had that will not rinse clothes correctly. There is always residue on the clothing, no matter if you use extra rinse cycle or not. We very un happy with this washer, High efficiency is a joke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even a technophobe will love it! We bought this a few months ago. The dealer sold us a different model, but then found out that particular model was no longer available. The manager gave us this model for the same price. I had read several reviews and LG was a top rated product, but many of the load sensor models, including LG got some bad reviews, so I was a little worried. My wife did not want most of the features and was afraid of all the settings and the new technology. However, after we got it home and tried it out, we were amazing. Clothes come out really clean. Very quiet. Fast, efficient. And the technophobe I told you about? She loves hit so much that she want to do laundry. We have to sneak to see who gets to use it first. This is absolutely an amazing piece of equipment and we are both glad we did. What can you say, when someone as apprehensive as my wife loves it?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In Love! Love this washer. It works great! I did lots of research before purchasing since it was a pretty big investment and I have not been disappointed. I can wash all of our king size bedding in one load. Very handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this machine I have had this washer a little over a month now. It is easy to learn how to use the washer. The turbo wash is a great feature. It gets everything I have washed really clean with very little water and detergent. The capacity is wonderful. I can fit much more into this washer than my last washer and still have room left. I would highly recommend this washer. Also it is so quiet you hardly know it is running sometimes.

How do I keep fabric softner from going straight into load when water is going in at start of load

Asked by: Timlfields
The fabric softener is not designed to dispense immediately. This dispenser cup should not be activated until near the rinse cycle. If this is not the case, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at

We cleaned hose filters and when we started the washer machine showed CL in the screen... This code do not  appear in the guide... What we can do? We bought this machine in US WT5680HVA

Asked by: salvador65
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The CL code generally denotes the activation of the CHILD LOCK feature. Information about this function can be found on page 26 of the owner’s manual. Press and hold the WATER PLUS button for 5 seconds to deactivate this feature.

Just purchased new set. Are there any first time instructions for running it? Can I just go for it or do I run it on a special empty cycle for the first time? Thanks

Asked by: new set
Congratulations on the purchase of your new ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.0 cu.ft. MEGA Capacity TurboWash™ Washer with Steam, Model # WT5680HVA. Thank you for buying an LG! Make sure that you remove the shipping bolts before you run the unit. Can you use liquid detergent and oxy clean powder on same load? If so, where do you put the oxy clean?

Asked by: Ninjanetta
The best advice on the use of OxiClean with other laundry products would be from the manufacturer, however, having said that, OxiClean is a stain remover that is designed to be used in conjuction with detergents. Powdered bleach and those types of product, including OxiClean cannot be put in the dispenser and have to be put directly into the tub at the beginning of the wash cycle in the 5.0 cu.ft. MEGA Capacity TurboWash™ Washer with Steam, Model # WT5680HVA...^IFV

Why is washer leaving lots of lint on items?

I washed a handmade quilt on Delicates cycle. I washed it by itself. I did not wash it on the Bulky/Bedding cycle because it has to be handled gently. When it was done, the quilt had lots of lint on top of it. There was no lint on the part that was at the bottom of the washer, only on the top surface. LOTS OF LINT. I just bought this washer about 2 weeks ago. It's the most expensive, advanced washer I have ever owned, but I have never in my life had a problem with lint before! Please advise.
Asked by: opossumtrax
Hello opossumtrax. Lint issues with the LG 5.0 cu.ft. MEGA Capacity TurboWash™ Washer with Steam, Model # WT5680HWA are very rarely the result of a problem with the washer itself. If you are washing items that are new in your unit, it is normal for them to produce lint the first few times they are washed...^IFV

Condensation is forming under the LCD screen and Power Button

I bought the LG WT5680HVA washer a few weeks ago and I have just started to notice there is condensation forming under the glass for the LCD display screen and in the Power Button and Play/Pause Button on the machine. How do I get rid of it or prevent this from happening? i attached two photos. the condensation under the power button is hard to see in the photo but you can easily see moisture on the LCD and under the Fabric Softener LED.
Asked by: SeanMSmith
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. One thing that was difficult to determine is if this moisture is on the inside or outside of the display. According to the picture provided, of the LED Display, it appears that this is occurring when the unit is set to a TAP COLD cycle. The only way that something like this might occur on a cold wash and rinse is if the water lines have been reversed, and only HOT water is coming through the lines. At no time, with these settings, should there be water warm or hot enough to condense on a cold surface.

I just purchased the WT5680HW Washer HE toploader can you fill the machine with water to soak for as long as you want? I know there is a soak cycle

but it only lasts 30 minutes. If you can how do you do it? Thank you!
Asked by: Redthecat
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. The SOAK cycle is only designed to operate for a designated time frame. None of our washers have the ability to soak for an indefinite amount of time. If the wash tub were filled with water, and even paused, it would begin an automatic drain within a specified amount of time.
