[TV] No Signal / Black Screen / No Image

Troubleshooting

No Signal / Black Screen / No Image

If the unit shows a black screen or displays “No Signal” message,

it is usually due use of a wrong input.

Check the Power

Check the power by turning on the TV.

Press the menu button when the TV is on to check the product is working properly.

Use the menu button to test.

If the menu does not appear although the product is on, contact the service center.

Check Other Inputs

Is a DVD / Blu-ray player, game system, or another device connected to the television?

If yes,

switch the input to which an external device is connected to see if a picture is displayed.

Turn on the external device.

Using an HDMI Cable

If HDMI is used and SIMPLINK is turned ON, this can cause the television to display
No Signal message when manually switching inputs on the TV.

Turn SIMPLINK off by pressing the SIMPLINK button on the bottom of the LG remote controller.

Is a High Definition Cable / Satellite Box Used?

If yes :

Power on the external device.

(Press the power button on the external device, even if it looks like it is on)

More than likely Component or HDMI cables are used.

Ensure that the cables are inserted securely into both the TV and the external device.

If component cables are used, make sure the colors are matched.

If HDMI is used, reconnect the HDMI cable.

Switch the TV input to Component or HDMI

by pressing the Input button on the remote controller.

It may be necessary to adjust the resolution of the external device

depending on the cables used.

If resolution can be adjusted using buttons

on the front of cable/satellite box or menu option, please do.

For HD Cable / Satellite, the resolution should be at least 720P.
Otherwise, it may be necessary to contact the cable / satellite provider.

Try to connect a different external device

using the same cables and the same input to test the TV.

If not :

Power on the external device.

(Press the power button on the external device, even if it looks like it is on).

Select the correct input or channel.

Switch the TV input to A/V or Video by pressing the Input button on the remote controller

if red / white / yellow connections are used.

Try connecting a different external device

using the same cables and the same input to test the TV.
