When internet access is unavailable, the McAfee sends messages to customers for charge
Symptom
■ When creating an account, McAfee Mobile Security collects phone numbers during authentication process through international SMS.
Cause
1. SMS is used for an accurate phone authentication process.
2. Server for the SMS authentication is located in the USA and China (Under development).
3. Such authentication process is essential because the McAfee app is an application for security.
How to fix
■ Authentication process is fundamentally feature of McAfee.
As it is difficult to change anything once SMS is sent to customers, therefore make sure the phone
is connected to a wi-fi network when creating a McAfee account in order to avoid receiving SMS.
