LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator, has today announced that it is sponsoring children in education as part of “Educate a Child, Build the Nation” initiative. The project is run by Information City across the UAE under the chairmanship of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.

Mr. D.Y.Kim President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE

As part of LG’s ongoing activity to support communities across the emirates, six children received a fully-fledged computer course to expand their knowledge and help them keep up-to-date on the latest technology around the world. In recognition of their participation each individual received a certificate and laptop from the organisers to enable them to continue their development of using computers and simple software in a scientific and correct way.

HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum said: “Our main target from proceeding with this year’s initiative is based on the success and high achievements done last year and the overwhelming appraisals we received from the public and private sectors.”

“However, the positive impacts of the initiative that we experienced on the community and young students urged us to unveil in the coming future some other initiatives and projects that will honour the bright children whatever are their nationalities. The full-fledged computer course helped the students to become computer literature and rewarded them with laptops which will help them develop their mental skills, build up their personalities and help build an even greater nation. And today we are on constant follow up with their progress and success in their daily lives,” HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.

LG believes education remains the primary source of developing the nation’s future and by participating in this initiative, by helping to develop the minds of individuals who are the future of the UAE.

“It is our duty to give something back to the UAE and there is no better way than through education,” said Mr. D. Y. Kim, President of LG Electronics, Gulf FZE. “Being part of this great initiative will enable us to provide education to individuals to help their learning and set them on a path to become an asset to the country in the future.”

“Along with our umbrella campaign of “Life’s Good with LG”, where we have education initiatives all around the world, we are happy to commit our technological knowledge, financial resources and communication channels to create a differentiated value for everyone,” added Mr. D. Y Kim.

This year the ‘Educate a Child, Build a Nation’ computer program will run under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and supported by Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation, Dubai Charity Association and the Al Maktoum Association.
