Sydney, Australia – 5 August 2010LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, has today launched the ‘LG Unsigned’ national talent search to discover Australia’s best amateur band in partnership with MTV Network Australia, with entries open from today until 26 August.
So why sign up to ‘LG Unsigned’? Not only will you be identified as one of Australia’s most impressive up-and-coming bands, one lucky winner will be selected by a panel of music industry personalities to perform alongside global headline acts (yet to be announced) at LG Live at the 2010 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. They will also be the owner of an LG home entertainment and mobile prize pack.
The ‘LG Unsigned’ judging panel is fronted by one of Australia’s biggest You Tube phenomenon, the “Fully Sick Rapper” Christian Van Vuuren, joined by MTV’s Talent Artist Relations Manager Laura Vozzo, and Dan Hennessy of Aloha Music Management. Christian will also be video-documenting the competition and uploading to his hugely popular Facebook page followed by over 25,000 fans.
Fully Sick Rapper can certainly relate to young Aussie artists looking for their big break: “Performing alongside world class acts at the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we’re sure the winning Australian band will blow everyone away with their performance. We hope that all those Australians who dream for musical fame and fortune take the time to enter the ‘LG Unsigned’ competition”.

All Australian ‘garage’ bands are invited to submit samples of their rocking performances to by uploading a short bio, photos and an MP3 sample during the competition entry period. Remember to get all your friends and family to make their public vote online from 6-16 September when the top three finalists are announced, to also go into the running to win an all-expenses paid trip to Singapore.
The ‘LG Unsigned’ winner act will be announced on September 17, giving the ‘LG Unsigned’ act a little over a week to perfect their performance for their debut on the world stage at LG Live at the 2010 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix concert.
