SYDNEY, Australia – Wednesday 11th April 2012 – LG Electronics Australia has announced the appointment of Ben Glimmerveen as Head of the Mobile Communication category effective immediately.

An experienced sales professional with more than 10 years in the telecommunications industry, Glimmerveen will be responsible for driving and delivering momentum for the LG mobile business in the Australian market.

Glimmerveen comes to the role with a host of relevant mobile sales experience, having held the position of Key Accounts Manager for Telstra within the LG Australia business since October 2010. In this role, Glimmerveen played a key role in increasing the year-on-year growth which ultimately saw the company become a valued partner in the prepaid market.

Prior to joining LG Australia, Glimmerveen worked in the UK in senior account management roles with a variety of UK-based distributors and in Consumer Sales for Hutchinson 3 Operator.

“I am looking forward to leading LG Electronics’ Mobile category into an exciting period where innovation in both technology leadership and design will enable us to drive significant growth and incremental sales to Operators and retail partners,” said Glimmerveen.
