Sydney, 26 November 2014 — With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 just around the corner (of the year, that is) LG Electronics Australia (LG) is offering Australian parents the chance of a lifetime; an opportunity to watch their children walk out onto the ground with some of the biggest names in world cricket.

As a major global partner of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, LG Australia today announced that they would be giving Australian parents the chance to watch their children walk out onto the pitch hand-in-hand with players from both teams for the national anthems for each game held in Australia. Taking the form of an online competition, parents or guardians of participating children will be asked why, in 25 words or less, they think their child should be a part of the programme, with winners each receiving 2 general admission tickets and the opportunity for their child to meet some of the biggest names in cricket during one of the world’s biggest and most highly anticipated sporting tournaments.

Starting next week, cricket fans can jump on the LG microsite and tap in their entry for a chance to be part of the prestigious programme. The competition will run from 9am, 1 December, until midnight 12 Jan. 2015 AEDST. Winners will be notified on 19 January 2015.

Lambro Skropidis, General Manager, Marketing at LG Electronics Australia said: “Cricket is a summer institution in Australia and if my kids are anything to go by, I’m sure there will be an influx of entries by excited fans. LG is extremely excited to be one of the main global partners of such an amazing sporting extravaganza and we’re glad to be able to offer this opportunity to cricket lovers out there.”

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is one of the biggest sporting events in the world, held right here in Australia and New Zealand in 2015. The spectacle will bring together 14 competing countries and draw in nearly one-fifth of the world’s population and an expected television audience of more than a billion people worldwide.
