Knock On

Sydney, 24th March, 201— LG Electronics (LG) Australia today announced that its ‘KnockOn’ feature will be introduced to existing ‘L Series II’ handsets via maintenance   release software updates. The software upgrade will start rolling out in March, and by the end of April current owners of ‘L Series II’ handsets will be able to access and download the latest   device software so that they can use the ‘KnockOn’ feature on their handset.

‘KnockOn’ was originally introduced in the LG G2 as a convenient way to easily ‘wake’ and ‘sleep’ the phone’s screen by simply lightly tapping twice on the display. With the main home key located on the back of the LG G2, the ‘KnockOn’ feature was a convenient and innovative way to activate the device screen.

‘KnockOn’ has since been featured in a tablet for the first time with the LG G Pad 8.3, swiftly followed by the introduction on LG’s latest and first curved smartphone, the LG G Flex, which also shared the rear ergonomic design of the LG G2. The innovative feature has been highly praised by consumers and has led to LG developing a new version specifically for LG’s best-selling ‘L Series II’ devices. The forthcoming software updates will provide the feature, which was previously only seen on flagship devices in the LG portfolio, to existing L Series II customers.

‘KnockOn’ software updates will progressively roll out over the coming month to the following handsets in the ‘L Series II’ range.

LG Optimus L2 II

LG Optimus L3 II

LG Optimus L5 II

LG Optimus L7 II

LG Optimus L7 II (Dual SIM)

“KnockOn’ is another step in LG’s technological innovation, and this is creating beneficial    features that enhance the consumer experience by making them increasingly more user friendly,” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Electronics’ Australia.
