Sydney, 1st April, 2014 — Smartphone consumers will be saying ‘Yes’ following today’s announcement by LG Electronics Australia (LG) and Optus that its multi-award winning ‘G Flex’ handset is now available as a network exclusive at Optus.

And they will not only be saying “Yes” to the ground-breaking handset, but to the price as well because consumers can purchase the LG G Flex for as little as $12 on a $60 Optus My Plan in Yes Optus stores, telesales or online at

“We are really excited to be introducing the LG G Flex exclusively on Optus’ superfast 4G network.  LG’s premium feature-packed smartphone allows our customers to get the most out of technology while surfing the Optus network, and at an accessible price,” said Rohan Ganeson, Managing Director, Sales at Optus.

Announced to acclaim back in January, the LG G Flex is Australia’s first curved smartphone. The state-of-the-art handset features a 6-inch HD Curved P-OLED display, advanced “Self-Healing” coating on the rear cover and impressive battery life.

“We are delighted with how well the LG G Flex has been received by both consumers and media since launch, so it’s fantastic to now partner with Optus to bring the handset to a much wider audience,” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing for LG Electronics Australia.

The LG G Flex was widely recognised for its innovative design in late February winning a Gold Award in the iF Design Awards and again in March taking the “Best of the Best” award at the Red Dot Awards 2014.

Critical recognition of the LG G Flex comes hard on the heels of LG being crowned the Most Innovative Device Manufacturer of the Year at the prestigious Mobile World Congress 2014, held in Barcelona in February.
